so for the upcoming season im switching out my pow skis from 178 rossi bandit b4's with fischer x14 bindings to 181 icelantic nomads with dynastar (look) px14 bindings.
i read the sticky about these questions and am looking for general information and advice, will not make decisions just based on information posted in this thread, and will not hold newschoolers.com or its members responsible for my actions.
the situation---> i rode with my DIN at 8 on the fischers. i fell numerous times and they released properly without any prereleases. they were mounted professionally at a shop and the dynastars will be also. i want to know how the two sets of bindings compare as far as release characteristics go. it seems like the dynastars will hold tighter, with less swiveling components and more elastic travel. the icelantics are also much stiffer than the b4's, which were absolute noodles (foam core). i think the stiffer flex would make bindings less likely to release.
the question---> does it make sense to try lowering my DIN from 8 to 7.5 or 7 on the new setup, or are the differences in bindings and skis that ive described insignificant?
