What kind of car should i get ns.

So I have no clue about anything to do with cars at all.

I have about 7000-8000 Cnd. this is my first car. I want something that has good gas mileage and is somewhat decent looking. i know everyone is gonna say subaru but i wanted to look at more than that.

I love my VW Golf. and if you get a TDI your money on mileage. Even the gas models, are pretty good on mileage.

I take it skiing, never had a problem in snow, (i do have snow tires) and i seriously love the way it drives, feels. I couldnt ask for anything more.

Toyota, Honda, and Subaru are the top three for reliability, and with how much you have to spend you will probably want to consider buying higher mileage and a more reliable car.  These makers are a great start in your search.

I personally have had an 01 Toyota Corolla and an 04 Subaru Impreza WRX hatchback, and both have been exceptional as far as reliability and "bang for your buck" goes.

If you can check out the Chevy Avalanche... has enough room for anything you'd ever wanna put in there plus you can fit all your buddies and their gear inside as well. Only bad part is im only getting 15 MPG, plus side is it is awesome in the snow.

is it at all possible to get a wrx at 7-8 grand? I'd love one but haven't seen one that low. i thought they went for way more. just wondering since you brought it up.

Everyone says Subaru because they are quality cars that last. I know more than a few people with Subarus that have over 300,000 miles on them. They're built to run. And run. And run. And if you're looking at a used car, that's definitely a good thing.

Like others have said, look at Honda. Also great cars (with great gas mileage), but the big plus is their resale value doesn't depreciate as quickly as other brands.

For those reasons, I recommend:

Subaru Outback
Honda Civic

Get a newer Chevy S10, preferably with 4x4 if you do any winter driving, or get the ZR2 for more clearance. Depending on the engine youll get 20-30 mpg. Plus these things are fucking tanks offroad and in the snow. You should be able to pick up one easy within your price range.


I also would reccamend an older 90s Chevy Silverado if you just want something thats bombproof. Great offroad, low maintenance costs, insurance, but kinda bad on gas.
