well the only other sport i remotely follow is tennis so andy roddick or rafael nadal

and i used to play hockey and i idolized ray borque, patrick roy and joe sakic (i'm from colorado)

I understand this is a "favorite" athlete thread, not a "best" athlete thread....but i really dont think people on newschoolers should talk about mma...90% of you guys would call it "UFC fighting" wich is like saying "hey bro u wanna go play some nba?" because ufc is a brand...not a sport. But yah, Rashad just lost to Machida..so he isnt a knotch fighter...he is good..throws some bombs and has good lay and pray..but thats bout it. But i like him cuz hes from my state. Andrei Arlovski? really dude? I mean..this guy is my previous favorite fighter..but how could he still be your favorite fighter after Roy Nelson? lol..really? he almost lost that fight..too a fat washed up nobody. And his last two fights were loss's...and his most recent one was to a major underdog. 22 SECS IN!!!!!! And yah Cro Cop is a legit pick..not any more tho..but if you say Cro Cop in his K1 / PRIDE days..there u go. A good pick now days would def. be Thiago Alves.

Yeah I know what you are saying about how the fighters I listed were better a little while back, but thats when I followed Cro Cop and Arlovski, neither of them has been in many recent fights so i havent been able to watch them.

As for current and active fighters I really like Michael Bisping.

michael bisping is a douchebag that is given washouts when he fights in the UK just to get UK fans for the UFC and is trying too hard to act the bad boy like Tito Ortiz did...  Bisping needs his douchebag mouth shut for him...  like, i want a guy to break his jaw so they have to wire it to keep it together.

and fucking Kyle Baubalitz- he goes to the high school that I just graduated from- he just announced hes playing at Penn State- he had offers from 22 D1 schools for football- he was in my weightlifting class- at the end they took your max from your bench squat, and deadlift and added them up- I got 950- the old record was like 1190- he got fucking 1510 pounds-
