Bringing Your Guitar On A Plane?

Hey I'm going out to Whistler this week with a bunch of friends and I really want to bring my guitar. It's a Martin acoustic and I really dont want to fuck it up. I hear that guitars can get messed up while on board from either the altitude or the lack of pressure. I might try and bring it on as a carry on, but I'm not sure they will let me, I will probably call. Anyway, has anyone ever had any problems with this? let me know.

get fucked up ffrom the altitude?? even if you bring it on board with you, thats only like 20 feet of difference then down in the cargo area, doesnt make much difference but the coldness and the pressure down there could do something

If you cant carry it on DON'T bring it. It will get royally fucked if you put it in cargo. If i was you, i would hold onto that thing with a kung fu grip.

man, I have an ovation acoustic guitar, I dropped a grand on the sucker, I put it in luggage on a plane when i went to Cancun, it was fine. i have a $300 ATA rated case though, it's like a case in side of a case. unless your case is ATA rated, DO NOT PUT IT IN LUGGAGE. if you can carry it on bring it, if not don't.

DO NOT DO IT for a completely different reason: If you carry it on, everyone on the plane will go 'Play us a song!' throughout the ENTIRE FUCKING TRIP. It's ANNOYING. Save yourself the trouble and leave the guitar at home.

if it does get ruined on the flight and your within the U.S. during your whole flight, u can get up to $2500 back for ruined goods. I would check that out though for your specific airline b4 u listen to me
