Cleaning A Frame lenses

I've got HI Blue lenses, and there are a few strange-looking grease spots on the inside of the lenses, I can't tell which surface they're on... they might even be in between the double lens. But there are grease spots and swirls that look like they were made by somebody rubbing their fingers around inside of the lens. I've tried grease-cutting soap and all that stuff, and it refuses to get any better. It's almost impossible to see out of them because the grease distorts everything.

Help me. Please. What should I use to clean them? How can I clean them?

Not sure how soft Oakley lenses are, but with spy lenses if you get the lens wet it becomes soft, so much so that if you rub it with something abrasive you could remove the tint/any finish on the lens. THe spots may actually be scratches or some spot where someone touched the lens after it got wet and basically scratched/damaged.
I could be wrong though.... hopefefully i am wrong and you can remove whatever's on your lens.

Side question though. IS the HI blue lens good for flat light, or night skiing? i need to get a second pair of goggles, and if i can find the a frames cheap i'd like to buy a pair with HI blue lenses.

Yeah, the HI Blue are perfect for flat light/night skiing. They really brighten up the snow, it helps a ton.

But they're not scratches or abrasive damages...

my friend took his back lense off a few weeks ago, he got all the stuff from the middle out like some fog and stuff and water and now he wonders why they even make double lenses becuase they neever fog or anything now, and there so easy to clean......

Cool. Was just thinking that I have a pair of Spy Blizzards with a dark mirrored lens, and one way or another they got some snow on them during a powder day, someone touched then lens and it was damaged.

I might have had the same problem as you. I got moisture inbewteen the dual lens design.

It made them so bad I couldn't see out them. My solution was to send them back to Oakley under warranty. heh.

And the Iridium finish on oakleys is a lot stronger then the iridium finishes on other goggles. It's still elicate, but in comparison it's a rock.

when you get oakley lenses dirty they don't get clean. My sunglasses just smear around when I clean them and the inside of my wisdoms suck too. I can still see out fine though.

did you get snow or something inside the lens? if so, i'm assuming you rubbed it off with your shirt or something. BAD THING TO DO. with oakley lenses, if you get ANY water/snow inside you're supposed to knock the snow out as best you can (WITHOUT touching the inside in any way - so just smack the outside lens a few times) then just wear them. the vents will work at evaporating the rest. if you wipe it off, it'll take the anti-fog coating off the inside, and then the lens'll be all blurry.

well first read the little red thing that comes in the box that says dont clean the inside lens if it is wet. this will smear the lens and will wreck the anti fog. you are going to be shit out of luck and will not be able to warranty them due to you not reading the thing at 119.99 i think you should have taken a look at it

$119.99? um, that's about 119.99% wrong. just goto your local shop and ask if they have any replacement lenses (if not, then assuming they're an offical oakley dealer, they can order you a pair). the a-frame lenses run from $30 - $60, depending on tint. a lot of $$ i admit, but better than going out and getting new goggles all over again. or just ride with the blurry ones.

yeah true that shit my a frames have moisture in between them i think and it doesnt affect me but it just fucks me off... does anyone know how to clean this shit out? or should i hust put them somewhere warm at let mother nature do the rest?

Yeah yeah yeah you guys are right, but I never got the little booklet thing because I bought the lenses and goggles used, and I was always careful as hell with them, I would NEVER touch the inside lens when it was wet. I valued these things over my life. Any more suggestions? Because I'm pretty sure Oakley or a shop won't warranty them if I have no proof of purchase at all.

i know its bad to touch/wipe the inside of the lens if its wet. but what about if the lens is dry? is it still bad to rub the inside lens lightly? theres little peices of dirt on the inside lens and i dont know how to get them out.

if you ever touch the lens, do it with the black bag thingie, it's one of the few thing that won't scratch it

Hey, EastCoastPrice... When I warrantied my A-Frames for moisture inbetween the lenses, Oakley gave me this as their warranty terms...

A) If under a year with proof of purchase, manufacturers defect, Free replacement.

B) If past ONE year or no proof of purchase, but manufacturer defect, $30 for replacement iridium lens.

You may want to call and see if that is still their policy, but that's how it was a year ago.

Yeah I have the h.i. blue lenses too and they did the exact same shit...definitely sick lenses though minus the defect.

DONT FUCKING PUT ANYTHIGN ON THEM... if you put anything on them, this includes water you risk fucking them up. I put water on them and it was like they were permanently fogged. if your having problems the only thing you really can do is wipe them with the google thingy.
