Wakeskis look rad

So I just clicked on an ad for stereo wakeskis that popped up on NS, and I'd never heard of this sport before. They are twin tipped rockered waterskis, and I looked into it further and people are doing rodeos and landing switch on these things, and sliding rails and basically doing on water what we do on snow.

Who else has actually heard of this? It looks legit and it might be a pretty big thing that I'm just super ignorant to... But I kinda want to know more about it. So if anyone on here does it a lot or has even tried it, how does it compare to skiing on snow? Is it completely different?

And if you haven't heard about it I recommend checking it out. Ads on NS seem to be getting so much better.

dude wakeskis are the shit!! ii live right on the water and there sooo awsome. they are alot heavier than normal skis and its difficult to land switch since you have to hold on to a rope but its do-able. I have yet to tried flips and shit but i have done 3's, 5's etc. there worth the money

Does anyone have the cheap ones that are shorter and about 150$ that they sell at dicks? Are they any good?

The shorter ones are like sno bladz... so if that's your idea of better

Honeslty, I think they look pretty dumb. But that's just my ignorance of never trying them before, and that's probably what snowboarders were saying when they heard about "twin tipped skis"

I do look goofy.

But I have grown up on the water and used to wakeboard just as much as I ski, if not more.  it just looks weird to me.  I'm not hating on it, it just looks goofy.  I'm sure its fun, and I"m sure I would probably kill myself on them, but what I have seen of them it just looks weird and not very steezy.

I will not be skiing short pow skis, haha.  I just don't like the look of short skis.

Take a way the facepalm.  They're longer than I thought they were.  Sorry about that.  I still hope pow skis don't end up like that.  I like them the way they are, but things will change for the better when it comes to ski tech.

That's odd that you say that because in the 20+ years that I've been a competitive waterskier I haven't really seen any waterskis that are lighter than wakeskis...

I've got a pair of them and they're fun...it's wierd skiing on a rockered waterski, but that's just because I've skied normal skis for so many years.  They're really easy to spin...
