Using a sewing machine when you dont have one

Well I thought I had a machine, but because its my grandmas from 1963 my dad says to stay away from it. Im okay with that, I tried for 3 hours to get it to work, and somethings wrong with it so whatevs. So im wondering if a place like JoAnn will let me use their machines if I buy fabric from them or something? Or are there craft places that let you use machines? Thanks
