Water jump - wet ski boots

Planing to hit water jump, but have few worries about my SPK boots. Could smth bad happen if I use them for swimming?

I dunno if you have anything to worry about i've never done water ramps before, but if you are worried either get a cheap liner, or head to a used sports store and grab a super old pair of boots. Both options are pretty cheap.

If i were you though i'd be more worried about your skis snapping, i here that happens frequently.

I used mine at momentum last year, and they got wet but nothing bad happened other than that...

If you're at a camp at whistler you will want a cheap liner or a way to dry them fast. Mine didn't dry fast enough and I was skiing in a puddle all day the next day. I don't advise this.

If you aren't at whistler and have to use your own skis, that's a bigger worry. Bring some skis you don't care so much for, because they do tend to snap.

All you need to do is stuff them with newspaper after you take them off.
It dries them super fast.

As for the leather (since I assume thats what you're worried about) if something bad were going to happen to them it already would have since your boots get wet from the snow all season

Well I remember back when Jon went to australia to learn the kangaroo flip, there was a pic of him with probably 5 broken skis or 5 pairs, can't remember... And those are head skis, which are rather durable. So that was probably off the bigger ramps, and he probably did it almost all day every day. He was there for what, maybe a month?

Seems like a pretty common thing for him. Maybe get some cheap urban skis? Or just hope your skis don't die. At whistler they provide water ramp skis, I don't know if other places provide this option.

ummm I wouldn't use your good boots if you're planing on ramping more than a day. The water damages the liners. And you can snap your skis on the ramps the flex into water is mad. Personally I dont ever use any equipment I plan on ever using on snow again.Your call Jamal.

Yeah at OP, I'd be more worried about my skis than my boots.  I'm sure they have boot dryers.  As long as you dry them out at night, shouldn't be a problem.

Most places you wear trunks, vest, and helmet..

I skied on ramps last summer and my boots were fine.  They had dryers for them and that.  I didn't hurt my skis at all, but this one kid that was pretty big (6'3 I think) he busted like 3 pairs

Not rare at all. It's super easy to break skis on ramps. I suggest bringing multiple pairs. Just go to a thrift shop or a ski shop with real old skis lying around and ask to be the for cheap.

to all people scared of equipment damage i went to water ramps two years in a row and ur boots dont get ruined, snow is water too, but still getting ur boots wet doesnt harm them just let them dry. skis breaking IS rare, so dont worry about it.

i broke two full sets of skis in a five day jumping period.

as far as boots goes, if you jam your foot in while theyre wet you can rip the fabric of the liner. thats the only thing id be worried about.

lol but you dont swim in powder. And I've broken about 5 pairs of skis on the ramps. If you want them to last fiber glass the top sheet.

once every couple days or so depending where you are. places like park city with the super duper bubble systems are less often.
