Is this a good deal for this forester? I talked to the salesman and he said the tranny could be weak.

It's really hard to tell 160k. The 3 grand is pretty cheap but you just never know until you see it in person.

It could be the owner took great care of the car and just has to get rid of it and you can drive it for another 60, 70 thousand more miles.

Or he could have treated it terribly and it's a horrible deal. Go see the car, that's the only way you can tell.

I hear if you keep a subaru well kept it will last 250,000+ miles?

Very true, my last Subaru (legacy) was at 220k before I wrecked it.

But I've heard horrible things about any Forrester's in that year range. Definitely should look at it.
