Okay, so here's the deal: I busted my tripod this past winter, and I need a new one. Easy enough, right? False. The tripod I was using was my dad's old one (yeah, I'm cheap) but now that it's broken, I want a new, nicer one. Problem is I don't know what to look for.
I know some basics, but in every description there are things that throw me off; I just don't know that much about tripods, what can I say?
Anyways, I was hoping the camera-smart people here in Media/Arts could recommend me a tripod. I don't want anyone spending a lot of time on this, because I can do my own research; I just want some recommendations that fit my specs pretty well, because I don't know what I'm looking for.
I film with a DVX100b (wt = 4.2 lbs). I'm hoping to pay under $200. I want to be able to make a dolly to go with this tripod (semi-irrelevant, thought I'd throw it in).
