They are made of a material used for parachutes.  They are pretty much indestructible.  I probably know the guy who made that thing.  He is an ex stuntman named Jonny Cann.  Those things are still pretty deadly.  If you lawn dart into an air bag, you will break your neck.

Actually from the airbag I've seen, aside from tough material, the air is constantly being pumped in by huge fans and there are holes on the side to let air escape quickly when someone lands on it to absorb the impact. Since the air is always circulating though the bag a hole or tear wouldn't be a problem as far as deflating but if there was a hole it might tear and you'll be goin through the bag onto the ground...
