Ok, let me start this off by saying THIS IS NOT MY PERSPECTIVE ON THIS SITUATION THIS IS INDEED A FRIENDS POINT OF VIEW.
So me and my friend who doesn't ski all that often got on the topic of Tanner Hall not doing competitions anymore. They were aware of Tanner Hall's Chads Gap Crash and I made it clear to them how serious Tanner's last crash was. They are also aware of Tanner Dominating the X-Games for the past 10 years and his just how successful he was in pipe. They then reminded me that Xavier Bertoni beat out Tanner last year, and said "maybe Tanner just can't compete with everyone now-a-days" I told them that Tanner was indeed fully capable of competing against them and winning. Then they said that Tanner might just be getting scared since Xavier beat him last year and maybe he just wants to go out on top rather than die down... This got me thinking. Do you guys think that Tanner is just done with competitions because he has had so many injuries and training all the time and pushing your self to learn those new tricks and go bigger has just taken a large toll on his body? or Do you guys think that maybe he is just in fact getting scared that he can't compete with all the new guys and he wants to go out on top?
Just some food for thought. I don't necessarily think that he is getting scared. But good luck on his recovery. In my opinion Tanner has done so much for skiing in general that he could choose either option and I would still respect him equally.
