I have to say, I'm glad he died when he did. But Wait!!! Before you Karma me down, think about it. I have the utmost respect for the guy, and I love his music. His singing is fucking orgasmic 100% of the time, even if you don't like his emoting all over the place. He and his buddies also came up with some really good pop that no one will ever re-create, and he did for music videos what Walt Disney did for cartoons.
Now, I'm glad he died. Why? Because I'm sure, as you all probably were at some point, that he would've fucked up even more. More scandals, more bad performances, whatever you want to call it, it was on the table.
I'm glad he died because it solidified him as a fucking idol. You've got to admit, that because he died "too early" people are gonna forget about the scandals pretty quickly and focus mainly on his music - Just like they did with Lennon, and with Kurt Kobain and all them peoples. Dying early made him a legend, and is the best thing that could've happened to his image and career short of a stellar comeback - which I don't think would have happened, because, I mean, look at the guy. 50 years old and basically plastic.
It's really damn sad, but I hope people forget about the other shit and focus on the music. Hell, look what it did for Hendrix.
