A Couple of Days with Birk Irving (9 years old!) from Frank Traylor on Vimeo.

I've seen a couple threads pop up about young skiers lately, so I figured I'd post this. Not really a season edit, more like a few days of filming with 9 year old Birk Irving. Most of this was right after he hurt his arm at nationals as well, this isn't half of what he can normally throw. No joke, kid kills it....

one thing this kid CANNOT think, is that he is the shit, or the best. cuz if he does or his fellow skiers build him up too high he will become a complete douchebag asshole. I'm not saying tell him he sucks, just dont be like "youre gonna be the best skier ever!" or shit like that. it'd be a shame if this kid turned into a d-bag.

that was very impressive, his 3's alone had me sold on best 9 year old I've ever seen, the fact he has 3 totally different grabs with his spins and they all look smooth.......amazing.

reteracted. i love the music myself, i just have a nine year old sister and im trying to bring her into adulthood gradually.

and he is steezy as fuck. in case he hears though, you can tell him i said he is "steezy as all get out"

hes got a little switch game. he can do sw 3s. but i dont think he can get enough speed to hit a bigger jump switch. if he could though he totally would

yeah haha its pretty hard for him to get speed... and idk actually. powderwhore might know, i know he hit a decent sized stepup at the end of the year... i think the biggest ive seen him hit is 45-50? not totally sure.
