not at all. plenty of talent to take in place of him. im stoked he is sticking to shredding pow. real sick to watch.
That kinda makes me sad. But he's amazing so im stoked on him either way.
i hope this, combined with xavier's win last year, will mean proper coverage of pipe events, rather than the tanner vs. simon narcolepsy inducing storyline they've manufactured for the last several years. the level of pipe skiing is ridiculous now and the depth of field very strong too. only this time maybe others will get the attention they deserve.
everyone knows about dorey now. with another season to fine tune his run he will be explosive for sure.
xavier is clearly the most tech pipe skier in the world. left and right 12s, sw right 10 to left 10- this kid has big tricks, as exemplified by the fact that every run of his at x this year was different, super technical, huge and stomped.
kevin rolland is a huge threat. he can throw 2 doubles in 1 run which includes a 12, because he is arguably better than dumont at maintaining amplitude all the way down, only he spins both ways and has great style. my pick for gold next season.
mike philippi was resurgent this year, with a fucking awesome run at the euro open, he could be a major force next season.
i love duncan adams, kid has the sickest style, thats all there is to say. he won't win unless he gets bigger for the judges, but great style nonetheless.
don't rule out the finns: aj kempainen didn't have a great year in pipe, but he looked like he has big potential the year before. kalle leinonen was injured this season, but i think he'll be huge next year. killer style and goes big.
anyone who thinks pipe will be a procession for dumont now is an idiot. i'm calling it now: he won't even podium next year at x: he wouldn't have this year if kevin had landed his run.
i haven't even mentioned the likes of colby, jossi, riddle and andreas. they are all capable of great runs. trust me, pipe is looking great for the future.
How happy is Simon Dumont right now? hahaha. Dumont is gonna win that ultimate ski athlete award again most likely with 1st place in Pipe and Big Air.
