So this spring REI had some mad deals on hellbents, and i picked my self up a pair of 169. Then i started to have second thoughts about the length. So i got a pair of 179's aswell just before they sold out and REI has a lifetime return policy so when i made my desicion i could get my money back. Now i have to decide between 179 and 169 hellbents ( keep in mind the run long 179=185ish) I am 5'8" and 140ish and 15 yrs old. My only hesatation with the 179's is they will be a bit too long and heavy for me, therefore hold me back for doing tricks or what not. Anyway just wanted some opinons. Also i'm not sure where to get them mounted, any thoughts on that. Thanks for ur help. +K
Personally i would go with the 169s. a ski too big can leave you dissapointed and regretting your decision. i geuss it all depends on what you like to ski...
Go with the 179's. The 169's ski like a 140. The 179's ski like a 150. Because so little surface area touches the snow, especially on hardpack, you want to go a lot bigger than you normally would.
