Smallest Drop In? + karma for help

What is the smallest drop in you could make without sacrificing speed? So I need a small drop in thats fast. Id like to make one so that i can store it easily, that way it doesnt kill the grass. And i dont have a lot of room. I can start it on the small amount of concrete that i have. Pictures would help a ton. Thanks.

well..i would say around 5ft if u use plastic lattice on it....idk about outdoor/indoor carpet. caz plastic lattice will get u a ton of speed (caz it's plastic). i'm not sure though, i have a 7 ft high one, and complete flat ground and it works fine, a bit fast, but it's fine

Mine is on my deck stairs which are about 4-5 feet high and mine works fine with soap and water on turf, but thats because the box is really low at the beginning because its on a hill.  and I tried to flatten it out as much as possible.  I'll post pics later, I don't have any right now because I just finished it today.

well my box is only 1 foot high and 10 ft long. i get plenty of speed for it. I'm trying to decide if I wanna cut the drop in shorter though right now. but like, if i cut it too short, then i just wasted a bunch of wood

Brogan has the smallest drop-in i have ever seen.

I dont get how he gets enough speed on a 2 ft. drop-in. I guess a shit load of soap.

maybe he uses a shit load of soap...or has some type of soap he made that makes it supper slick (haha...idk y i said that...just jokin around). But still, it looked like that after the drop in was about like 4 feet of some hill..but a shallow hill.

mines like 4 ft high and 5-6ft long with orange fencing on it and it works fine

Mine is pretty flat and the drop in is 2 1/2 ft tall on a little 1ft bank and what helps alot is that the dropin instead of being really steep but short it is pretty mellow but long so if you have anough space try that it works good for me

the smaller the drop-in the more speed you have to sacrifice, thats simple math, you potential energy gets transferred into kinetic energy, so translated: lower = less speed, higher = more speed.

however if you refer to small drop-in as in minimalistic, easy to move, transport, etc...
You might want to consider making a drop-in from a ladder, im sure there are pics somewhere around here, basically it were two ladders in A-frame construction and a small horizontal platform on top, supported by two support beams running down onto one of the steps of the ladder (i hope you understand what i mean) it looked sketchy but very practical and sweet design...

Heres mine.  It works fine for skiers with a good amount of soap and lots of water, but snowboarders  have a little more trouble with speed because they cant push off as well.  The box is 12' long, but if you had a rail speed would be even less of an issue.
