Guy is legit by my standards, I submitted my stuff last night, and he got back to me an hour ago. Super stoked. I'd like to know about the edges though.
Here's my tech sheet that I sent in:
Level of skiing
Advanced
Style of skiing
Not speed racer but lots of style
Height
5'9" thru 6"
Age. Clues me in on your state of mind.
Young person
How are your knees?
Both are fine.
Weight. Very important for determining flex.
176 - 195 lbs
What kind of binding system?
Alpine Bindings
Do you require reinforcement for binding?
No binding reinforcement required.
Will you be using skins? (back country)
No skins.
What is the primary snow type the ski is designed for?
Groomers
When filling in text boxes below, I agree to the following.
Not to hit the return key when I type in the text boxes. It gives michael a big head ache when he transcribes the form to Excel.
If snow conditions are not listed above, or you have multi condition needs, please write out your thoughts.
Groomers/ riding switch/ carving/ generally dicking around, and having a wicked good time. (What can I say, I am from Worcester, Ma) pronounced "Wista". Think Adam Sandler's Tollbooth Willie territory
What is the primary terrain the ski is designed for?
All Mountain terrain
If terrain is not listed or you have multi terrain needs, please write out your thoughts.
East Coast, so icey... with trips to Jay Peak... and the terrain park... but rocketing me out of turns like a Line Prophet 90, with more sidecut + an early rise tip and tail
Over all length of ski
176
Tip Width
130
Under Foot Width
90
Tail Width
104
If your side profile has multiple points of measure, (spatulas) list them here. Comment if it will help.
I know I live and ski on the East Coast, but I like some width to my skis.
About hitting the Return Key
I paid attention, not a one.
Camber
I'll fill out the box below.
For Camber or Rocker, please describe lift and placement.
Copious amounts of camber under foot to make up for the fact I want these skis to be both fairly soft and very poppy, with an "early rise" tip and tail that will make the ski perform as if it were shorter. Please assume that I will mount these -6cm from the dead middle of the ski for 300mm bootsoles
Is this ski a twin tip?
Ski is Twin Tip
Tell me about the Tip.
I'll fill out the tip/tail box below.
Tell me about the Tail.
I'll fill out the tip/tail box below.
For tip and tail profile, describe rise and length.
Full twin tip and tail, somewhere in the 80mm tall by 150mm long range, so big, kinda newskool early rise style, intended for whatever fresh snow I can find, and buttering off of everything in sight.
Talk to me about "flex pattern". The overall feel (stiffness), is determined by your weight, style, and other inputs from above.
I'll fill out the flex box below.
Describe your flex pattern as best as possible.
Ok so I am 195lbs, and I like soft skis; I have a pair of 07 179 Surface live life 2s... and I like them, but not that much. Perhaps is is because they do not really turn. so maybe more accurately I like skis that turn, but are not too stiff, and very lively. If I could choose, I think I would like most of the flexing to happen right in front and behind the binding, again I reference the Prophet 90. Easy turn initiation is also importent to mo.
Any other information you think relevant, please write it out.
I noticed around your website, you explain that the finish is not perfect. Let me be clear, I do not care what the skis look like, I care what the skis ski like, for that is the point of skis.
For my 333 skis graphics package.
I do not get any, the skis are 222 Test skis
When would you like your skis?
Take your time, by next season.
Filling out this form has been ?
I had fun.
Let me know how much you would like to know about my recommendation.
Explain every thing. Camber/rocker, Prime numbers, the flex pattern, the glass package, get technical.
If not in the US 48 states, do you Skype. Please list contact info for Scype
Please let me know how you found out about 333 skis. Thank you.
