Staples Tech Position?

Okay, so I'm a little nervous about this position I've got an interview coming up for. I'm interviewing for full-time tech service at Staples, and I wanna know if anyone has done anythign like this before?

I consider myself tech savvy - I can install everything - replace parts, run  official diagnostics and I know how to defragment harddrives and set up wireless connections and all that, but is there anything else to deal with?

Will there be retards that wonder how they got a virus after surfing Limewire porn an all that?

Yes, there will be a LOT of retards. I was in the tech dep. at staples in my town for a while, but i left cause some of the staff was WAYYY too serious about their job. I had a lady come in asking why she couldn't get wireless and it was because the wireless switch on her laptop was off.

Just get ready to push ESPs down people's throats ahah youll figure out what those are soon. Their will be some serious people who know what they are talking about that do come in on the odd time so just be prepaired. OH make sure you know your phones in the store too, like frequency and such some people really wanna know that.

Watch out for the odd dick who comes in to try to make you sound like an idiot or disprove you.

i work aisles and furniture at staples and i know all the tech guys, one of them is a close friend.  You'll get alot of dumb questions no matter what department you work in so get ready for those.  Managers will always pressure you to get the sale and make sure you know what you're talking about on products cause customers will try to make you look dumb.  Gotta sell those insurance plans too

All together its a good job, dont do much really haha.

i do IT work, just spit tech terms at people who are giving you a hard time until they stop asking questions.  and yes you run into retards all the time.  two people in the last week got a vundo / security suite spoof trojan, the ones that pop up in the lower right saying you have a virus and "click here to remove." the apps look exactly like avg or windows security too.  but the funny part is they got the messages, downloaded the program and PAID for it.  they bought a two year subscription for a fucking trojan.

So, just to clarify, am I gonna need to know much? I definitely do not know all the jargon associated with computers, but what sorts of things will people try and ask to make me feel stupid? I just need to know if I'm prepared to answer these things.

I don't know if I could work like that.  I know a fair share about computers, so I hate dumb-ass questions.  On the other hand, I dont know EVERYTHING and I feel like I would lose sleep if someone came to tech-pown me.

all you really need to know is how to use google.  anything you dont know how to fix, just google the error message and the answer is most likely in the top 5 hits.  i know thats not gonna help you in your interview, but if you get hired and want to learn more just search
