dumont worked on his rails skills and he slays rails now.

Some of his videoblogs from last season have him training rails in colorado early season. If i remember correctly he right and left side true pretzeled a dfd. Pretty damn good for someone who never skis rails.

Since when are rails more important than airs?  What the hell happened to the mountain?  Covered in metal and petroleum-based bullshit.

Being able to slide a rail is cool and all, but it doesn't make you a good skier.  You guys need to master 3s before getting on those rails.  These fucking pirouette-lookin sw-ups that go down on rails look a lot more like aerials than a kangaroo flip.

And if you do think rails are more important than airs or big mountian, than buy a snowboard. They are more versatile on rails.

The only rails on mountains when Jon learned to ski were by the lodge.  And it was better that way.

i genuinely thought that this was going to be a synopsis of one of Jon's videoblogs that layed out his plan to dominate arials skiing too now.

i figured he is knocking out all the other shit too, why not? and i mean, who the fuck cares lets throw in cross country skiing too. and have him brush up on his shooting and we can enter him into the biathalons as well.

when i first moved to breckenridge two season ago, i ran into jon oscar and the whole crew in the supermarket within my first few weeks there. then after i ran into him there off the slope, i literally saw him everyday i got out on the mountain for the next 2 and half weeks hiking rails for the majority of his time there until they put in the two jumps on peak 9. i would hike rails for what i thought was a long ass time with him right there and he would still be out there longer then anyone else (with the exception of andreas and those guys). it was incredible. hes by far one of the hardest workers out there and yes he can kill it on rails, hes just not as consistent as say tom or andreas. it was simply amazing to see how he would never give up or stop. def motivating to be out there alongside em.

everyone flips out when a skier just hits jumps but when a skier just hits rails and no jumps everyone is cool with that? that is some stupid shit, i mean compton and dadali have no jumps in any of their sections and everyone raves over that shit but jon be throwin switch dub rodeo 12's and AERIALIST!!!! What The Fuck.

haha I agree with most of that, kids are so concerned about being "underground" and against whatever "mainstream" skiing is that if anyone focuses on something that resembles competition skiing they flip a shit. Jon's jumping is sorta like Aerials so people don't like it but like you said guys like Dadali and Wesson can have zero jumps and still be worshipped while Jon gets shit for only doing jumps
Jon is probably in the top 5 most versatile skiers, he can slay jumps, rails, pipe, races, probably moguls and even pow. Give the man some credit he's basically a skiing god sorry that he doesn't wear hoodies past his knees, afterbang and pump Biggie in his segments

skiing should be about skiing and loving to do  it, jon olson slays pretty much anything.

hate on me all you want i could care less, i mean this is newschoolers and i guess that's what most of it's about in the summer... but, how does rails + jibbin every single kink + skiing in the city = thug and gangsta, i mean shit kinda looks retarded doing nothin but rails, sure looks like rollerbladers doing wierd ass shit on rails to me, not being a gangsta

I hate to break it to everyone but there's not much money in skiing, if you do want money its going off of jumps and going upside down, thats what joe blow who pays the majority of the bills in the industry wants. Jon is a much better than average rail skier, but he's trying to pay his bills which apparently he is doing very well being an "aerialist" Tom Wallisch is a better Rail skier, and Jon is a better jumper which one drives a lambo? if Jon Triple flips or quad flips then call him an aerialist and quit skiing because we just became roller blading. until then just respect him for what he is a much better skier than most of us on the internet.

I don't know a ton of ams who can lip 270 on 3 swap both ways, especially at the start of this last season. this sport progresses so fast that a trick that was cool at the start of the season isn't even hard anymore because every kid on NS goes and learns it (Kfed, now Super fed) 2 on pretzel 2 out that was a big trick 3 seasons ago and now I literally know 13 year olds that have it on lock.

That video was from realtime, and it was in the movie not the bonus features. Ahmet didnt have any jumping in TURBO b/c he blew out his knee around november or something.

If you think will wesson or ahmet can't jump, then you're just ignorant.

Just as an example, Ahmet was at JOI 3 or 4 years ago.
