Sunburst Rail Jam

i thought it be a good idea to have a preseason rail jam like a few yrs ago. the best time would be the Ski and Snowboard Swap Sunday October 11th, 11:00-3:00 since people will be there already and we could tell Jim (the owner) it would "bring more buyers". to do this it cant cost sunburst money or jim wont allow it. so we could have volunteers bring in snow from the west bend ice rink and other nearbye rinks. if we cant do that than we can crush ice with a woodchipper or even use turf. we would use some of the flat rails and have it on the base of exhibition. other ideas jus post. i will be emailing sunburst and will post the response.

Dear Sunburst Administration,

If we can't use rink snow then we can crush ice with a wood chipper or even use turf. I only ask that we be able to use some of the flat rails and have it on the base of exhibition. I know your primary concern is safety and I am a step ahead of you. Hay would line the run and rails in case of falls. Another concern would also be liability. I believe a simple waiver can take care of that. Please consider my thoughts.

this could be pretty cool.

i think it should be later though because i remember last year it was really hot and the snow would just melt like crazy. i say early november when everyone is nutting in their pants to see some snow

I figured Jims money pockets would like the idea of having it during the ski and snowboard swap. it shouldnt be too bad in october. Boardfest is in october and they dont have much problem

sry for the duble post but i got a email back

Thanks for the idea.  Just in case the "free" ice would not work the
last event cost us right around $5000.00 for the ice last time.  One other
factor is that there is no such thing as a "simple" waiver in today's
society.  Chances are that it will not be happening this year.

if we had owners like tyrol, it wud happen.

las season i asked jim why we dont hav a spring jam and he said its not possible because of cost.

i asked "then how does tyrol do it"

he didnt reply

If you want to host a fall rail jam you are more likely to be able to host one in Downtown Milwaukee. Find a resort that would be willing to truck in rails in exchange for sponsorship.

Sounds sick.  Tyrol's is only like 2 weeks later though and has quite a bit of features set up
