Which is the best editing program in general?

 im looking to do some sick editing, which editing program will serve me best if im looking for great effects and great titles? or which ever program you find really good

if you want great effects or sweet titles, don't use a editing program, use something like swishMAX or after effects.
otherwise, adobe premiere or vegas

Final Cut Pro Studio if you're on a Mac.


Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects (and the rest of the CS4) if you're on a PC.


Nothing else stands a chance to either of them.

But if you're looking for a less steep learning curve, try Sony Vegas.

you sound like a newb so im going to suggest you use avid. dont let the price fool you its realy an easy program, especialy for someone who doesnt know anything about editing. its even easier than windows movie maker
