Good college majors for skiers

yo iv been doing a little thinking about what im going to major in college.
i picked environmental engineering and got all my classes lined up at utah state
BUT im not 100%
i wanted see what the general population on NS was studying or have studied
watcha got?

Double degree.
Anthropology with an option in Archaeology, Communication Studies with a specialization in Non-Profit Organization.
The challenge level of the two makes one real major combined.

So, as far as careers go, I'm totally effed, unless I want to do PR in a big city (pass!). So, I'm getting my Masters in Communicative Sciences and Disorders in a year or two.

because you can take an accounting degree and go get any other position, but you can't bring most other degrees in to accounting/finance.  they tend to carry a little more prestige due to the degree of difficulty.

go for business and come up to newyork and manage my mountain cuz the people who do it now are idiots. our oark is a joke and were on our way to go under haha so im sure they would love to have someone for the position that actually skis

^ business is great because :

1) It does not take up a lot of your time ( more time to ski )

2) You are more marketable when you graduate to get specific jobs

3) If you like working with people, and the managment courses that come with it, then you will like it.

I took management as a major and now I work in the golf industry as a club operations golf professional. I have my winter's off to do what I please ( think about it this one, it makes sense).

I dont really know what the equivalent of a major is in belgium, but im following geology and from last bachelor year till my last master year (3of the 5years) i can go to college in switserland....
that equals serious pow slaying in winter and glaciers in summer :D

Visual Arts, but my school also has an environmental studies degree where you can learn about guiding and navigation in the summer and winter. They do a week long wilderness canoeing/camping trip and in the winter a 3 day winter camping trip with snowshoes or tele skis. That kind of thing would be great to do for a skier.

Shit.  Engineering looks so damn fun.  I'm not saying that in a sarcastic way, but you have lots of power to change the world and innovate in building and designing stuff.  I'm going into 10th grade, so I don't know a whole bunch on the details on the different types of engineering.  I like to build things too.  It would be super fun to design chairlifts, snowcats, trucks, etc.  Sorry if this is a totally idiotic post.  Would environmental engineering be like building dams and stuff like that.  If it is stuff like that, it will be an excellent career if you like the mountains.  Within 2 hours of my house, I can drive to 7 big dams, all in the foothills or mountains, there are tons of others too.

Decide what you want to do, and if that job is in the ski industry or not. Then work backwards through what courses and degrees will get you there.

I choose business because i do well in business classes, which means im good at it, which means i should enjoy it in my future so hopefully that all works out. A big bonus of business is they offer classes at the most baller times (once or twice a week, tons of classes after 10am and tons of night classes too) so my schedule is always cash.

That is what i want to do with my life. I want to get a masters in most likely chemisty(maybe philosophy or botany) and teach at a community college for a while and work on a phd so I could teach at a university level or be a research prof.

These are all just dreams now though. I still need to get through my senior year of highschool.
