So there's about over 9000 vehicle threads right now, i figured i would post one too.

So it's nearing my 16th birthday, and my mom has recognized that with school, playing golf for my school, and also a job, I don't WANT a car, I NEED a car. Seeing as my mom is going back to school for her degree in anesthesiology and my dad is a perfusionist and works long hours, theres no way theyd be able to cart me around like they did. So here's the deal, since im going to Windells, my vehicle budget is a little limited than it would have been. Originally we placed it at 5 grand, combined from my grandparents and parents, now we're looking at 3 grand combined grandparents and parents. If I want anything more than that, I have to save the money (understandably)
So a good friend of mine has 2 brothers who have both gone through a 2002 honda accord, its standard, with about 120k miles on it, its in perfect condish save for a SMALL dent on one door. Got a pretty nice sound system in it, some spiffy tint on the windows, etc etc. They want 3500 for it. Is it worth saving up the extra 500 for it, or should i opt for a car that is just 3 grand and not have to save the money?

honda accords are amazing cars. good gas mileage and if its a v6 some decent power. you wont regret it.

ive heard nothing but good about these cars. ive heard of people getting 300k miles outta these things if you take care of them. and since its a standard, ill get even better mileage about it, and yea, i want a standard, because of the fun factor. we have a 96 camaro thats a standard, and the few times that ive driven it, ive had wayy more fun

Hmm...the mileage is decent but do you trust that these two kids drove like an old lady for 120k miles?

Well no, but I've known everyone in that family since I can remember, they're honest people, they'd let me know if something was up with it, stuff like that. But both the guys in the family are in the marine corps, and they've taken care of the car. Its always been put in a garage, yearly tuneups etc, the thing is basically mint. The only reason they're getting rid of it is because both the guys are gone, and the girl thats left (my good friend) already has a car. So its not like they're trying to get a faulty car off their hands.

save the money and do it man, hondas are great cars for the money and they NEVER break. and if they do, usually all of the parts you need are in the 10 items or less line at Walmart. I mean lets be real haha theyre so cheap to fix. do it up man

yea all things considered, repairs on honda's and toyotas are amongst the cheapest, I mean you could get any part you need at NAPA or wally world, or anywhere else. and the insurance on this car isnt gonna be terrible so i think im gonna do it, its basically the perfect car for what i would need.

i would say no question do it. I had a 98 civic that i absolutely beat the living shit out of, im talking tray slides all the time, e-brake whips at 60 miles an hour, got the car up to 140 miles an hour, just beat the shit out of it. I never ever had a problem with it, till my brother tried to jump it and crossed the cables and fried the wiring harness, but thats a whole nother story haha. if you take care of that car it will never die, and theyre so easy to fix yourself too. Im actually going transferring out of architecture to work on cars next year because when i had that car, all i did was tinker with it. 100% call them tomorrow and tell them you want it and are willing to save up the rest asap. they mightt even let you take it now and pay the rest weekly or monthly or whatever. hands down do it

yeah man no problem. If you have any questions with it pm me. i did a whole bunch of shit to my car so i might be able to talk you thru something you want to do yourself. Sound system, bolt on stuff, brakes, little things haha but its the shit you gotta start out on. post some pics of the car up when you get it. ill have to show you the nightricer when you get yours haha
