I just broke my favorite head of all time (e3), what's a good head out there similar to this one? I started my own thread because I needed something similar to this, because its what I've played with for 4.5 years. I play midfield and hopefully will be playing at the college (D3/club) level next year. Thanks!

why dont you just get another e3? but if your gonna be playing at the collegiate level i think it may be illegal when they inforce that new rule? not sure though.

Depends, if your a very aggresive middie, (ground balls more cheks etc.) this won't be tough enough for you i snapped mine. If you don't think you are going to be smashing your head around then defenittly go for it.

I play Defense and have the STX Exaclibur model, its sturdy, I love it.

Ive got a stiffi (oh yes, yes i do) and i can say i have no complaints. i take faceoffs for my school, and i play a little of both defense and offensive middie, though i enjoy the offense aspect a lot more. this head, for its price, i think is a little much, but its been perfect for me since day 1. for face offs, its wicked stiff, and takes some of the best faceoffs ever. as for defense, again, its pretty stiff, and for poke checks ive never seen it bend, its perfect. and for offense, if you string it right, it'll shoot like a pro. all around the best head ive owned.

i have the original brine answer (narrow as fuck), pocket super far foward. holds so well its like cheating and the velocity on shots is unreal.

plus, i cant seem to break it no matter what i do.

dude work hard party hard. it never stops haha. but so many people have made aweful suggestions the best two heads out right now are the clutch and the proton power. both are durable except for the bottom stringing holes on the clutch, there pretty pinched and just nice heads all around. but you gota consider the rule change that is going into effect also which will make almost every head on the market illiegal.

I play aggressively (man down but I usually snag a longpole from someone, big on the GB's) but I am fast enough for attack and offensive mid. I just want a good overall sturdy head that won't snap on me for at least 2 years. Sorry for the double post!

i agree, but i'll call them the 'hottest' heads.  theyre madd nice for me too, just its all preference.

looking at 'cuse, cornell, johns hopkins, theyre all using the power, duke is using the clutch, etc.

preference, get another e3 if its working for you.

you dont understand. they HAVE to use it. STX pays shit tons of money for them to. I forgot his name but a kid on their team uses a warrior shaft and has to tape his entire stick to cover up the Warrior Logo.

well now i disagree.  sorry.  They can buy their own sticks and use it if they want to, they arent forced to use certain things.  they just get school endorsed stuff for free.  but if theyre willing to spend the money, they can use it.  this isnt the MLL, where they are probably forced to use certain things under contract.  NCAA doesn't allow for personal sponserships, and are very strict on that, soooooo.....

i just baught the MIL mission head. its pretty sick too.

they dont have personal sponsorships. That would be like UNC basketball being sponsored by nike and kids on the team wearing rebok. Its NOT ALLOWED. Syracuse is sponsored by STX so they have to use STX or in the case of the one dude whos name is still eluding me tape up his entire stick so the warrior logo isnt showing. Trust me man i have a bunch of friends at that level.

SU is spanced by STX, that head is clearly a brine clutch, they can use whatever the hell they want.  it's not like they are going to let kids play bad because they can't use the gear they want/need.  they let them play with what they want, the free gear is optional.

i dont think you understand the meaning of sponsorship. It's not STX trying to be nice by giving them free stuff. its STX saying "We will pay for your turf field, your sticks, your gear, your cleats, what ever else, and in return, your going to use all this stuff we give you, your going to put up our STX signs and show off your STX stuff." This is basically STX advertising. Now people see that the best lacrosse team in the country uses STX, i should use it! they also sponsor some free games for people so they think "hey, the STX is a gret company!"
here's another great explain to completely prove you wrong
Cascade Pro7. Shitty fucking helmet. no one likes it. its heavy, its just not good. EVERYONE likes the CPX. Show me one team using Cascade helmets that still use the CPX? none. How bout Virginia? they use those terrible Brine helmet or warrior, i dont even know. they are gross though. Im sure they want to use the CPX (or cascade) but they are sponsored. its not a choice. Gloves? gloves are super personal. i like certain gloves, hypothetically i could hate maverick or stx gloves, but i have to use them you will not see one person not using the team gloves.

hahahahaa! bro you don't know what your talking about. obviously this picture proves that your wrong. its ncca mens lax, not the freaking olympics. they can use whatever they want to use for sticks and shafts and anything like that. they don't even need the same gloves. sid smith d pole on cuse uses nike gloves. the sponsorship doesnt care what sticks they use. as long as all the players have the same helemts and jerseys. your so wrong on this one. stx can force a player to use a certain head. and btw Pro7's are legit helments... and Virginia doesn't wear brine or warrior they wear gait. and the new gait helmets are the best helment on the market. you don't know what your talking about buddy. sponsorships aren't that strict especailly for a not very popular up and coming college sport.

but what do you think sponsorship is? The sponsor provides incentives in return for advertising. if your not using their gear, your not advertising. and your comparing this to the Olympics? college and pro sports have much tighter sponsors than Olympic athletes you tool.
The Pro7's are shit. ask any actual lacrosse player unlike yourself. And the Gaits are crap too

and sid smith doesnt use STX gloves? prove it

if you do play MCLA or NCAA next year you will have to get one of the new 2010 legal heads. i too love the e3, i just boiled mine to the new measurements. but if you wanna get a new head i would say go with a Maverik Juice or one of the new STX 2010 legal heads coming out this summer. but its mostly preference, so go to a store and test fleibility and stuff like that....

yea i think there is only one head currently on the market that will be legal next year. I think it is some rebook head. I would just wait until all of the new legal heads come out in a couple months
