Soft ski for tall guy

i know the invader and the afterbang are soft skis. i own the ar6 09 but am looking for a softer ski this season. i prefer skis that are about my height (6.1) so around 181-186 cm
thought of getting the 010 punx, but theyre are quite stiff from what ive heard.
do you guys know of any long soft ski?

i am 6'1 and have line ep's, which are some of the softest skis out there.  they are fun as shit.  dont know if youre looking for more of an everyday ski, though

ya im not sure, thought about getting them, but id rather be looking for a park ski.
which one would you advise me for powder ep, sir francis bacon, or bent chetlers.
i would tend to bent chetlers, but whats your thought on that?

the bent chetlets look awesome.  but i kind of think both those and the sfbs might be a bit short for a 6+ footer

how long will the kung fujas and anthems be for the 010 season? 180 + ?
i thought line only made park skis which are shorter than 180?
and how soft are the kung fujas?

2010 kung fujas will be in the same lengths(169, which will measure about 175, 179 about 185, 189 about 195) as 09 but with a mini rocker.  I'd say try to get your hands on a pair of 179 09s if you are set on a soft versatile park ski, camber on a park ski= good(not trashing rockered skis, but that tiny rocker I doubt will do anything positive.  09s have camber).  If you want a rockered ski that is fun to use in park because of the rocker, get something with a decent sized rocker.  Oh, and anthems suck a lot.  Chetlers were fairly soft throughout and versatile, they were a fun ski and I am your size.  Since you have a stiff park ski, I think you should get a versatile pow ski to make your quiv. much more usefull.  if you want, check 333skis dot com and tell the guy you want a softy and you get to choose dims and length.  Never seen a review on them, but it is for sure a great idea.

Just gonna join in on your thread, as I am in the same boat as you, tall and looking for a soft ski.

I demoed the '10 Kung Fujes in Whistler this year, and the mini rocker is fun, but I would like to go softer if it was me. But deffinetly worth considering.

I have also considered the Afterbangs, as I think they are gonna be an amazing pair of skis, but still they could be longer.

So right now I am at Moment Reno Rockers. They are said to be a little stiff, but that the rocker makes up for that, so the feel nice and soft. And they come in a 181, not long, but in the 80's.

A friends of mine skied the Bent Chetlers all winter, and he loved them, nice an soft with a rocker profile, butter and presses were so smooth, and great in pow.

ya im kind still thinking wether I should take the Bent chetlers or if i should take the jjs from armada.

i like the massive rocker and the shape of the jjs, but i heard better critiques for the chetlers. what do you think? i also like the fact that the jjs have are nearer to symetry than the chetlers, which are           141-122-133 or so. i like riding switch alot, so im still thinking.

ya i am also thinking bout the reno rockers, i really like their shape. the fact that their tips are more rectamgular. i also think their good, because there are not so many people riding them. by chance do you know thier price or if they are fully symetrical? i wish the afterbangs would come in 185!!!!

im thinking about getting the punx from 2010 and the chetlers too. the punx come in 180 + right?

i like how big of a rooster tail they make. but i also heard only good stuff about them. on BC.com they werent even taht expensive.

Wish the Afterbans came in that length too!

The Reno Rockers are fully symetrical (117-92-117) and they cost a little over $500, so not that bad.

As I recall the punx come in a 184, or maybe that is the urban punx. I have been looking a lot at that ski too.

i have to strongly disagree. it isnt stiff if you mean that, but it is moderately stiff. with quite some pressure i can bend it, but it is no comparison to soft skis such as the invaders or anthems. they might be softer than the JO from head but definately not a soft ski.
its not meant to come over bitchy, its just that i have the skis right next to me and i can guarantee, they arent soft ;)

Has anybody out there skied the Reno Rocker? And can tell us how they ski?

I can only find one review, and that is an old one. And the only videoes I can find is a short one of Cedric skiing them, and he does not do a lot of butter stuff in that edit!

pretty sure JJs are somewhat stiff.  Chetlers were for sure on the softer side and were a fun ski for sure(I never got to ski JJs so I can't compare the two).  I liked that they were fairly straight yet you could turn as sharp as you want in pow, and don't worry about going switch, they can do it.  On groomers you can make long turns with these where with JJs it is hard(I have been told by a lot of people) to make long turns because they have so much sidecut in such a small area(because the fattest part of the ski is moved in a lot by the taper).  Either would be a good choice though.  Maby CRJs would be a good one?  I don't remember how stiff people were saying they were.

I had some reno rockers and they werent for me. I prefer non-rockered park skis as I feel I get more pop but in the pow and just everyday jibbing around I really love my 179 obsethed I have mine 1cm back from centre and only lose float once it gets knee deep and even then its manageable.

The 179 Obsethed, once riden for a bit is SOFT softer than my 07 dumonts and softer than a Bentchetler more manageable as well its my favourite all around ski.

However for those really deep days Im craving the surface New Life or Moment Nighttrain. The new life is supposed to be symmetrical 122 underfoot jib stick, though details are scarce at the moment.

The Nighttrain is moments version of a Hellbent, ie; fat, pow slaying, not quite symmetrical, jib tool.

I would agree with what this guy said except: I would not say Night Trains are Moments version of Hellbents..  Its kinda like when people say EPs and Hellbents are practicaly the same ski, because they have similar shape/purpose, even though they ski soo different.  Night Trains could be a good choice though, bents too.  I would say for soft pow skis that can work in park:Chetlers, Bents, Obsethed(although more rocker would have made them more fun everywhere, IMO), EP Pros and Night Trains(but I don't remember the flex on them..)
