Wide brake on 85mm

hey i can get a good deal on some look px12 jibs with the wide brake.

i'm looking to mount them on a pair of salomon 1080's that are 85mm underfoot. would the 100mm brake on the jibs be to large or would it work ok?

im pretty sure it will be alright. im in the same boat, i just bought dumont, they have like 86mm and im going to mount 100mm brake. the store told me that it should be alright, considering that it will overhang by only 7mm each side.

however, it can only cause more problems i think. especially switch landings - the brake might rip out coz it has a greater chance of being caught in the snow.

^^ yep, you might eat shit, however, i ate shit when my break caught going switch, it ripped my whole heelpiece out, and i was on a 108m underfoot, so it can happen on any ski...
:)

maybe if you ask nicely your skishop will switch em with a smaller pair for free... alltough i dont think wide brakes on a 85mm will be probs... xcpet if you plan on doing lots of rails...

I have some 95mm fujas mounted with 100mm breaks and have never had a problem.
