Cypress/Seymour pass next year

As most of you know Cypress has there pass next year for 169$
I got th inside scoop that during the time cypress is closed, the pass is good for 20% of a seymour day lift ticket. Or for 119$ you can add a pass that works for seymour while cypress is close ( month and a half)
so for 300$ you get a 2 mountain season pass.
this is for youth btw.

Thanks for the info.

On a side note does anyone know if you can get student discounts for passes at Seymour or Grouse if youre going to UBC. Really want to ride the locals but there is no way I can afford a WHIS pass and another one at full price.

definatley grouse doesnt have a student discount ... im  going to ubc and paid 370$ for my y2play pass at grouse ... look into seymour maybe ... but i doubt it
just get a whis student pass it's soo worth it!

read in a spc resort guild it goes average snow fall: seymour 1000cm, cypress 622cm and grouse 305cm.

Ok, so i im new to all this. was at ubc last year, but only got a whistler pass cos i had too much work. ill have less on this year.
my questions:
1. when is cypress closed?
2. how much is the dual mountain pass?
3. what mountains does the dual mountain pass cover? can you choose?
4. when and where can you buy it?
5. can you get a tri mountain pass?
6. when do the grouse/seymour/cypress early bird tickets come out?
7. what is a y2play pass?

sorry for being a retard, but the websites for these mountains are terrible, so id appreciate any input.

I can now answer a couple of those...

Y2Play pass is pretty much an early bird for grouse that goes on sale sometime during the winter before the season your buying it for...theyre already sold out for this year.

Seymour's early bird goes on sale Sept 1 to the end of September I think and they also offer a student discount which makes it abit more than 200 I think.

Im not sure about the exact dates for Cypress being closed but it's before and during the olympics.

I dont think there is a tri mountain pass.

Would you happen to know if the dorms at UBC specifically Totem have storage lockers for ski equipment and such?

no they dont. but you will be by yourself, or with one other person, so you can keep your stuff in your room. the rooms are lockable, so its not an issue. i used to keep my skis etc in my room or in my car.

i knew those things went on early in the year, but not so early that they would be sold out already. fuck. anychance of picking one up anywhere? i was in van last year, and will be next year and for the next two after that. FUCK!

$219 + GST at seymour for early bird with student discount. No other mountains offer student discounts as far as I know. Also as mentioned above....i think the cypress pass this year is only like 200 or something cause of the blackout dates. I'm just getting Seymour for weekday afternoons and Whis for the weekends.

It's not on there website for some reason, I had to email guest services...the early bird sales for Seymour start on Sept 1 and end at the end of the month I believe.

To the best of my knowledge. (Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

1. Cypress Mountain is closed to the public from February 1st to March 8th, 2010. (And when ever there season ends.)
2. If you buy your Cypress pass by July 7th its $299 plus $159 for seymour add on.
3. Dual mountain is just seymour and cypress as far as I know
4.July 7th. No idea where.
5. Nope, there all each others competition, I think the dual is only being offered cause of the Olympics this season.
6. Cypress= July 7th Seymour= All of september Grouse= who cares

Oh and IMO you'd be better off just getting a seymour pass rather than a dual pass, cypress is further from ubc and the park sucks

awesome, thanks man! +K, youre a superior googler to me! haha.

i only rode grouse and cypress last season, and that was early on, cos i then got injured and had to call it a season in january. boo. at that point, grouse basically had no park, and cypress had a nicely manicured park, even if it was small. it was a bit of a trek though, youre right. cypress it is. ill see everyone there!

and if youre at ubc, we need to push to get a jib session on the gnoll. its made for a jib fest!

not sure. we tried to get it sorted last year, but we just ended up with a shitty bonk. but if we did it properly, and got some snow from out of town, some from the ice rinks etc., we could have enough for a decent set up. if we did it with UBC's permission, we could get a really legit thing together, make a proper event out of it.
if not, we just need a rail and and a bit of snow and lets jib the shit out of it!

nah, like i said, i was injured by then so i didnt get a chance to see it. i heard it was pretty good tho. if i can get a season pass at seymour with night skiing for around $200 tho, thats my best bet i think. i love the way ive stolen this thread! haha.

Getting UBC's permission would be super complicated I'm sure. But if anyone wants to try I'd be down, and would be more than happy to help transport snow.

we could try and get the ski and board club to get it sorted. im not on it, but probably will be nxt year, i know a couple of the people who hold (sarcasm)important(sarcasm) positions. they get given enough money from parties and whatnot, its about time they put something on. if there was a chance that the gnoll would be decked out with stuff, we might be able to get sponsors on board. i know rogers are interested in this sort of thing, cos ive worked on projects similar to this before.

again, if not, borrow a rail from grouse, and steal some snow from the ice rinks!

I think that was the plan last year, but UBC said that a club couldn't be liable for a such a "dangerous" event. At least thats what I was under the impression, but I could be wrong.

But maybe we could get a day-of-event insurance or something? Either way man, it would be rad, and by all means look into it.
