i think women are given way to much power in this country

they have almost absolute power to destroy a mans reputation and possibly their life by claiming rape. Men have no power even close to this. And the women don't even need any evidence, and they cant get in any trouble for claiming a rape that never happened. They can also have sex consentually, get in an argument with the guy, and then claim rape in revenge. This happened to a guy I know and he was an inch away from going to jail for years, but they found out it was consentual so he didn't get charged. But of course, no punishment for the girl who almost cost this guy a large chunk of his life. Girls like this make me think that the punishment for rape is too harsh. If a girl thinks she can just claim rape because she is mad at someone, it makes me feel like maybe the punishment for rape is unjustified. If I was a girl i think i would rather be raped than get shot by someone, but the punishment for being raped is i think much higher than it is for being shot. This is fucked up in my opinion


 Also, women can use anything to get a sexaul harassment lawsuit against you and cost you all your money in a lawsuit etc... Some prissy bitch i know might be doing that right now.

And in a divorce woman automatically get half of what a man earned while they were together, even if she did absolutely nothing other than being a soccer mom etc...

anyways. first of all, anyone who is afraid of giving up their control to anyone, obviously has control issues.

second of all. if not all, most of every woman you know has been raped or sexually abused, and the statistical fact of the matter is that most rape victims are raped by people they know, love, care about or trust. i.e. their husbands, boyfriends, best friends, or dads.

on the lighter note, the fact that most of the girls are probably not willing to respond to this is due to the following thrashing im going to get for being a girl and replying to this.

this thread makes me want to barf and if i were a mod id ban you.

Why would you ban him? Im sure he's just expressing his opinion about an issue, as far as i can tell he has not broken any rules or attacked anyone personally so there is no justification for the ban.

to my knowledge, not one women i know has ever been raped. maybe a few sexually abused. but i think its a bit of a stretch to say most if not all of the women i know have been raped/abused.

Uh. To be fair, I don't think most women who have been raped really prance around sharing with the world their rape tales. I will agree with you though, that saying "if not all, most of every woman you know has been raped or sexually abused" is a little excessive. I think it's something like 1 in 6 women is said be sexually assaulted in their lifetime.

Also, I'm not worried about anything 'thrashing' that I'm going to get for responding. Quite frankly this thread doesn't even irritate me that much--just makes me roll my eyes.
I agree that women who claim "rape" for petty revenge are terrible, and quite frequently get innocent people in life-ruining trouble. However I can think of many other ways to state that opinion without coming off as a misogynist dick. (Something you may, or may not actually be.)
There are quite a few other things that have been said in this thread that I'm tempted to reply to, but it wouldn't even worth my time. Some of you people are absolutely ridiculous.

    most girls you know, wont tell you theyve been harrassed or they'll just brush it off, because we feel have to, and not always because we want to. and why a lot of the time we know the offenders and dont report it: how could someone you trust do something so wrong? try coping with that. a lot of women feel like they have to keep under the radar and we do it to please men, because who could love an imperfect, loud mouth? thats another misguided pathetic excuse.

    PS to original poster, women falsely claiming rape can be imprisoned for perjury and sued for defamation, along with a bunch of other things. So there's definitely a penalty, if you get caught. The problem is the tendency to pre-convict an accused; if you're charged with rape, you're assumed to have done it whether or not you're ever convicted. Plea bargains make it worse; people will plea out to a sexual assault they didn't commit in order to get the whole thing over with and limit exposure rather than have a story show up in the paper. Of course, this also means everyone assumes you're guilty. Also not everyone can afford a lawyer to go after their accuser for defamation, and often the guy just doesn't want to drag the whole thing out. There's no solution though, women need to be able to come out and cry rape when they actually are raped or nothing will happen to the real bad guys. It's not a problem with women having too much power in society. Almost no women actually do this. It's a problem with the legal system.

    I do think that a large handful of women who abuse the system really ruin the chances for this debate to be solved. This is the same thing when a girl gets pregnant. The father has to pay a ridiculous sum of money for child support and more often than not, will ruin his financial life and will leave him struggling for the  rest of his life. I was at my orientation for college and I was talking to a one of the student ambassadors about this actually. I was somewhat shocked to hear that if you sleep with a chick and she has had ANY amount of alcohol (even one sip) and she gives consent, she can file for rape and will win the case every time. (no matter if you were drinking too or not). Us guys are automatically assumed as the aggressor which is not often the case.

    A stay at home mom is giving up her career to raise her family, husband included. If you were a hard working dad, wouldn't you appreciate the fact that there was someone there to wash your clothes, cook you dinner, and raise your children? I mean, could you do all that on your own? Possibly. But would you want to? Doubt it. So if things went sour, you're damn right to wife should get compensated since she put her job on hold to raise the family, instead of making her own money. Your concept of women is so flawed since you base it off of nut jobs.

    And real quick. Say you were a stay at home dad, doing all the work that entails being one. And your wife decided it wasn't working and she was leaving...would you want some of her money? Or would you turn your head, and restart your own career and start saving your own money?
