i think women are given way to much power in this country

they have almost absolute power to destroy a mans reputation and possibly their life by claiming rape. Men have no power even close to this. And the women don't even need any evidence, and they cant get in any trouble for claiming a rape that never happened. They can also have sex consentually, get in an argument with the guy, and then claim rape in revenge. This happened to a guy I know and he was an inch away from going to jail for years, but they found out it was consentual so he didn't get charged. But of course, no punishment for the girl who almost cost this guy a large chunk of his life. Girls like this make me think that the punishment for rape is too harsh. If a girl thinks she can just claim rape because she is mad at someone, it makes me feel like maybe the punishment for rape is unjustified. If I was a girl i think i would rather be raped than get shot by someone, but the punishment for being raped is i think much higher than it is for being shot. This is fucked up in my opinion


 Also, women can use anything to get a sexaul harassment lawsuit against you and cost you all your money in a lawsuit etc... Some prissy bitch i know might be doing that right now.

And in a divorce woman automatically get half of what a man earned while they were together, even if she did absolutely nothing other than being a soccer mom etc...

But at the same time, women get paid less than men for doing the same work. It think its like 75%, but I'm not sure at this moment.

So basically, it goes both ways, but there is some balance.

i'm 100% with you on that stupid "he raped me stuff" but theres such llittle evidence to prove the girl wrong. but what gets me pissed is those teacher-student realtionships.  when a 16 year old kid and a woman had sex all the time teh lday wasn't charged for like rape or anything like that but if it was a guy teacher he would automatically get charged for big time rape and otehr shit too.

I usually don't reply to stupid shit like this. but you caught me on a bad day and i feel the need to point a few things out. im sorry to start argument. but seriously...

how often do you think a girl just casually claims a guy raped her just to get revenge or because she doesn't like the guy? that's a pretty big claim for anyone to make if its not true especially if it becomes a legal issue. i mean thats fucked up that that happened to your friend, but nothing serious came of it right?

also just thought i would through it out there that according to the Bureau of Justice Statisics:
91% victims of rape are women and that 99% of offenders are male.

It's mostly becuase of upbringing. Men are taught honor and hard work. Women are taught grace and seduction. Nowadays, women want to work, but aren't taught the honor code that goes along with working hard. Most of them figure it out after a couple years, but maybe 5 or 6% don't fucking get it, adn fuck it all up for the good hard working women - giving them all a bad name by relentlessly calling rape and sexual harrassment and entitlement. Women deserve rights -- dont' get me wrong, but we gotta overhaul the whole system for it to work

It works both ways too. Alot of guys don't fucking get it. The punishments just need to even out. I think claiming false rape should get a few years in county just because of the possible effect.

i'm sorry but all you have are some far out claims and a story about a buddy of yours. legally women have the same power as men. men can claim for sexual abuse and often do. i think that in north american culture a lot of the time women are sympathized with a bit to much. but it's not like they don't deserve rights.

well first of all i am not a man..

secondly, I never said it was no biggie. I fully recognized that what happened to your friend was fucked up. But not nearly as fucked up as if he was actually sent to jail. And not even close to how fucked up actual rape is. I dont know the full story but it seems that legally speaking things worked out, aka he was able to prove his innocence. Next time try to use an argument that actually supports your point.

The purpose of my first post was simply to say that it is a fact that the vast majority of rape is that of a man taking advantage of a woman, so i think its logical to assume that yes, societies collective view of "rape" will reflect that reality.

of course its a shame that some random chicks even try to claim rape although it was consentual, but tbh, the punishment for rape in general is too low (at least here in austria).

if you steal someone more than 50000 euros, you can get to jail for 10 years. although if you abuse a child, the maximum is 3 years and rape is 10 years.

then again, battery is 3-5 years and only if the victim died 10 years.

I agree with the guy to an extent... Obviously hes going to get flamed and this is going to turn into some BS flamewar thread, but whatever.
Women have had problems with rights in the past, and are still disadvantaged in some areas, but now we've become so against doing anything to offend women that they can basically do whatever they want.
I was just watching TV the other day and the amount of commercials ive seen depicting the husband as a stupid loser and the wife as some genius who knows how to use a cleaning device is ridiculous. If the wife was the one being depicted as the idiot, the commercial wouldnt even get a chance to be aired.

The consequences for rape are not unjustified because there are some stupid girls in this country. Rape is not a light subject, nor should it be talked about lightly. You have no idea what its like to be a girl. Yes, this girl you speak of could have fucked up this guys life, but that's a separate issue. It doesn't mean women have too many rights. I have a buddy who is on three years probation (can't even leave VT without a week's notice) because he and his ex girlfriend were fighting a lot (verbally) and she claimed abuse. Sucks because he's 20 and really is gonna miss out because of this.

haha they actually can. i'm not saying that the sentence for rape offenders should be lightened; but in situations where people are innocent it almost makes me think it should. There are so many people in the American prison systems that are innocent and have been wrongly accused. Yet they have been spending the last decades of their lives in prison over a crime they haven't committed. This comes with all your family and friends also believing you committed this crime. I learned a lot about it last semester and it really changed the way i thought about our justice system.

And yes, there are plenty of girls that cry wolf whenever the fuck they feel like it just to fuck someone over.

For situations where the rape actually happened and can be proved through evidence etc. i think the sentence should be pretty harsh. Girls have strong emotions, and care much more about things guys could care less about.

i've had girls tell me they've been raped in the past, only to find out that they were lying about it later so that i'd pity them.
a lot of women seem to think rape is some kind of joke and they can just toss the word around to get what they want. any bitch who thinks this is a good idea probably needs to actually be raped, just so that she can find out what it is actually like and why it should be a serious issue, and not just a way to get back at someone or get other people to pity them.
the worst part is that they get away with it. the stats here in canada on abuse are 50/50 for men and women, but men tend not to tell anybody because a) they are less likely to be believed, and b) nobody is going to charge a woman for abusing a man. but any woman can walk into a police station, say she was raped, and unless the dude she is accusing is famous, he's probably going to jail.

that's the truth and nothing but.
