i was talking about the picture, not the movie. i've known about his movie for a long time now, but i really doubt a picture of the mad hatter would get out before anything else.

this is Johnny Depp and Tim Burton we're talking about... two of the weirdest people in the mainstream movie business today. did you see Willy Wonka? is it ANY surprise that Depp and Burton are turning this into a strange film?

one thing that gets me REALLY stoked is the project Marilyn Manson is working on- "Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Caroll". it's the story about the author of "Alice in Wonderland" and promises to be about as fucked up as both the director of the film and the author of the story.

consider that the film was probably made a year ago, or is still in the works, aside from that, leaked would be the obvious choice of johnny depp because he is quite as you would say popular. but yeah who knows.

I'm pretty excited for this.
I just hope Depp does more or a 'creepy crazy' instead of a 'loopy crazy' (like he did with Willy Wonka).

i watched the other live action one...it was late at night and i was home alone so i drank quite a few cocktails and smoked a joint...that movie is trippy as fuck. such weird shit goes on, this one is going to be like a fucking 2 hour dmt trip.

I remember reading from somewhere, that Carroll actually made the whole Alice story up in one day during a boat trip with a girl to impress her. And he was like 12 years old at the time. Probably the whole getting high and getting the book done came afterwards, but that's how it was conceived.

Actually, Lewis Carrol was on an outing with his family, which included his niece, Alice, who seemed bored. In an attempt to entertain her, he told her stories based off his drug experiences, and worked her name into the stories to keep her interested. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is actually a compilation of short stories Carrol would tell Alice at various times. When he later published the book, he threw all the short stories into a series of two books, which also included Through the Looking Glass: More Adventures in Wonderland.

And I can't wait for this movie, for Manson's interpretation either. The Wonderland series is my favorite collection of stories I've ever read. stoked!

I'm pretty sure all these images have been digitally rendered. You see, when it comes to big movie productions, they have enough money to hire photoshop gurus to photoshop the actor/actress so that they have an accurate depiction of what kind of costumes they want to be made for the film. Ever seen the pre-conceptual shots from The Dark Night? All digitally drawn with a computer.

i am soooper excited for this movie. i have some reservations that he might fuck the whole thing up, but thats unlikely. also interesting, the disney version from like the fifties isnt the true story. apparently the director used parts from carroll's other books. it would be interesting to read his original unedited book.
