I have a bustin spliff and it's perfect for school in boston and on campus. I've gone down some pretty steep stuff on it but its definetly better for just mellow stuff that you can crank some pretty hard turns on. I know that has nothing to do with what you asked but it's a bustin board and I like it for what i do. hopefully that helps in some way

Another question I have is about the drop through deck on the strike, or maybe just drop through decks in general, will having a drop through deck make it harder for messing around with things like cross stepping or other tricks like tiger claws/g-turns, etc.?

no it dosent make a difference, just another form of riding. get it its sick

Never ridden one, but it seems to me like they are fairly cheap boards, and you pretty much just get a cool paint job.  I've heard they flex in the wrong places and some other problems. 

But honestly, people are picky you know?  It will probably ride better than a sector nine, you can choose a cool graphic/color scheme, and your going to love it regardless.  I might suggest just buying a deck off them though and slapping some Randall's on it, because I don't know about their trucks, and on some Randals and legit wheels its going to be fun regardless.

If I was to get a Bustin I'd get the strike probably, drop decks are such mad fun.

Cross stepping is easier on a drop thru I think, but remember you won't have a tail or nose so manuals and other tricks involving a tail will be very hard/impossible.  I can almost nose manual my KS board though but its such a bitch.

I've got a Bustin Complex and love it. Had it for 2 years now. They had a bad batch of epoxy and actually I got a small crack between two plys of the board, so they warrantied me another deck ASAP. Really cool guys, helped me out a ton.

About the board: I love it. A longer board for a little more room to move around, flexy without being a noodle, great board. I've got a set of Seismics on it, and personally I'd reccomend against the Seismics. Get a set of Randalls and you'll be square. The Seismics tend to throw me out of turns too quickly cause they're spring based, the Randalls are much more buttery in the turns cause of the way they're designed........ trust me, for a first board, a Complex with 180mm Randall's on it will be PRIME. Take a tape measure and realize how long it is though, if you're looking for something a little shorter I'd gamble and say the Spliff would be great. I have no problem with the complex around campus, and I carry it everywhere, but it's definately too big to strap to a backpack.

I just ordered the spliff with 180mm randalls i'm soo stoked and cannot wait for it to get hear..to bad i have to wait 20 days for it to ship
