Longboard bushings

my buddy just picked up the M1 kracked skulls board and he's a pretty big guy 180lb 6'0 he got the red bushings that came with the board that are 92a duro but it looks like on the randall website the next stiffest are the 89a's it seems like the trucks are tightened really well but the bushings are just too soft. the trucks are randall 180's

so i guess would 88a be enough for a kid that size or should i look somewhere else for bushings(other than the randall website)

i actually just had this same problem the other day.  the washers that were around the bushings were not big enough so the bushing was going over it and not tightening at all. try replacing the washers wish bigger ones, it worked great on mine.

i just took them off another pair of trucks i had laying around my house but im sure you could get them at a local skate shop or maybe even a hardware store.

The stock bushings on the new randal's are 95a. They are kinda see through red colored. I would definitly recommend the venom standards in your scenario. They are 90a and really predictable and smooth. Get two barrels on the back and a barel and cone in the front and you should be set. Tighten them up for DH and loosen them for some really hard carving they work perfect for both.

there website says the red are 92a and thats what he has on it now the red ones. you think the yellows will be good?

where would i get the venom bushings?

Personally I like to use Khiro Bushings... They have a pack out that sells them with a lot of different duro's and it makes it very easy to change them whenever you want....

I know, the price may seem intimidating, but it is well worth it. For that price, you get a set of 73, 79, 85, 90, 92, 95, and 98 duro. It also comes with a bunch of correct sized washers and pivot bushings.

And maybe just split it with a friend so it won't be that expensive for just one person.

Another perk about this set is that you are not limited on what bushing you want to put on the front/back. Like on my board, I have 90's on the front and 98's on the back.... That gives me a perfect ride.

You wont regret it man. It makes it nice to be able to switch bushings in just a matter of minutes on the go. I carry that and my tool with me whenever I ride.

is the higher the number with the "a" the stiffer the bushings? like he has 92a would 95a be stiffer. or 89a?

The higher the number the stiffer the bushing... So with my setup, I use it for hills. No speed wobble at all.
