i had a really bad trip to hemsedal norway in late season and it was simply too hot to hit the big jumps... like 10-15c degress in the afternoon. so the speed was kind of an issue...

i gotta story for you...
so it was heads day, me and some friends went to hike the local mtn nd we did there was bout a foot of fresh pow. so we skid down had a blast then my friend (firstracks) who works there called up some guys who ran the t bar. we built a jump it was like 4 feet high nd a real steep landing nd without even warming up i attempted a backflip because it was the same place i learned them about 4 weeks back. i went for it nd faild. i got the rotation around but my feet were still tucked back nd my tips dug into the snow i smashed my face on a icy patch. i slit my lower lip off of my mouth it was basicly hanging barly by my gums, nd i had a concusion so i was so dazed. i went back to school met with the nurse she said it was fine nd i would only need a couple stitches so i was there for like an hour. they called a driver who didnt speak a word of english, driving to the hospital she got a flat tire... so it took about twice as long. finaly got there nd i was still so out of it. nd they stiched up my lip with over 40 stitches... good times

2nd year skiing, i was like 5yrs old and i was riding an anchorlift (towlift) a really long one, it was really cold and i drank to much milk so i had to pee, i misjudged the length of the skilift and there were rocks and trees to the sides so i couldnt let go, so i peed my pants on that lift :(

not really a bad skitrip, just a bad skirun :D

that and this years skitrip wich was awesome because i met lots of cool people but i also broke my ankle :(

I booked a 10 days (I couldn't afford 2 weeks) trip to Vail. But i misread it, and in fact it was to Wales, UK. There was no snow. A lot of shit though.

ugh, me and my dad took a 3 day weekend trip to canada...first day at bromont we find this place that NO ONE is at, but there is easily two feet of fresh...i could have ridden that one trail all day no one around nothing but powder. half way down the third run my dad blows out his acl for the second time...we go back to the hotel after ski patrol helps him out and head home the next morning...also we had already paid for the next two days.

well me, my brother, my mom, dad, and uncles family live in illinios and were going to colorado to ski.  so right away our 8 person car was packed full of people. On the way there my uncle and brother both got sick and threw up. so instead of a 10 hour drive it turned into a 14 hour drive.  We planed to get 3 days of skiing in.  the first day we tried to get to the hill the traffic was hurrable so we had to turn around and go back to the hotel.  The next day we got to the hill around 11 and had to wait about 2 hours for my cousins to rent there ski equipent.  once we actually got on the hill we had to leave after an hour of skiing because the roads were getting bad.  When we were driving back to the hotel the windsheild whipper brokw off due to ice build up.  so my dad had to stick his head out the wind with his ski goggles.  and once again my uncle became sick and braffed all over the car.  The next day after a 5 hour drive home we got snowed in and had to stay at the hotel.  and that was the worst ski trip EVER

Well I'm still going to physical therapy from my last trip in January... no regrets though. I was so stoked to be out skiing and getting hurt instead of getting hurt at work and not being able to ski. Optimism peoples!

went to bachlor for a race for 4 days, 1st day 2nd run i destroyed my left leg, sat on a couch the rest of the time there, then a full leg cast for 14 weeks, cruches for 18

my fam was on a ski trip in canada and we got a call that one of our best family friends had just died in an avalanche. packed up and drove 14 hours straight home to our mountain to be with his wife and kids. it sucked so bad.

i was at mt snow one time and it was 20 below. every time you rode the lift you felt like you were gonna die. plus it was windy as fuck.  then to top it off they closed the carinthia lifts so all the parks were closed.  it sucked

went on a trip with my friends family to stratton
his little brother and sister came as well(twins)
5 minuetes into the car drive his little brother threw up all over my legs.
i mean it was bad but i thought o well im still gonna ski
the next morning the whole family was sick
it turns out that he had the stomach virus and the entire family got it but me
idk why i didnt get it but i didnt get to ski either cuz their dad wouldnt let go by myself so that was a great day to ski ruined
so i had to stay in the hotel sitting their trying not to get sick
not sking at all
for two damn days
worst trip ever
but i skied the last day
wich was allot of fun

I never really have it too bad, like stated, as long as you're skiing it's all good.

BUT one time, i went to windham and got really sick, i was like coughing up all my organs (or just coughing a lot, no blood) and could hardly hit the one rail and like 1 jump they had. It was late season too. Taking some advil or whatever helped, and i skied groomers for the rest of the day.

Conditions wise, I've never really had a good ski trip... but I've had fun on every one I've been on regardless.

My first big trip was to Whistler for a week of skiing. Never been skiing out west before and I didn't really expect I'd get the chance again, plus we put a decent amount of money into the trip. So, it rained the entire time, all five days, every good run at the top of the mountain was closed, the snow was almost water, and the bottom of the runs were flooded. We actually needed to go in halfway through the day to put our clothes through the dryer it was raining so hard. This was also long before I started doing park, and I actually remember this as the first time I tried a rail, nuttting myself in front of about twenty snowboarders, and being an impressionable age, I didn't try again for many years. So thats my shitty trip. but I've actually grown to really like skiing in the rain since then, and that trip also showed me that you can still have fun in awful conditions, so none of my other trips with crap conditions were as bad.

I've been to Sutton and Jay a couple times where it has been sheet ice on every run. Last year we went to Sutton and all the snow had melted, it was even worse because it was a freak occurence in late december, where a couple weeks earlier there was a huge base and a ton of powder. The hill was almost completly closed, all the lips in the park were melted to pretty much unuseable. Luckily we got a few inches on powder overnight. Then it got Quebec cold, like minus twenty-five without the windchill cold, and the windchill brought it to negative mid thirties. So all the groomers were ice, all the landings were ice. What wasn't ice was grass with a couple inches of blower pow on it, so we skied that, and it was actually some of the most fun I've had skiing. Picking lines had to be done carefully, because going into the ice-rock-grass chute kinda sucked, and every so often there would be a deep powder chute in the trees where the snow blew together. Nobody was out because of the conditions and the cold, so anything worth skiing was untouched.

Had some dirty spring conditions at Tremblant, nice soft spring snow one day, to sheet ice the next. But the park was nice, and I had a damn good time hiking jumps and rails with friends. And another trip to Whiteface ended with cold-as-fuck conditions, and a lot of ice, with most of the mountains closed. I got some nasty shin splints(?) on an icy jump there, but skied the whole time anyways.

Actually looking back, I've never really not enjoyed skiing on these trips, even though all of the conditions were shit. Well, guess the moral of this novel is, skiing is fun no matter what your skiing on. East coast has some crap conditions, but honestly, powder really isn't neccesary for a good time on skis, so screw anyone who says it is and says east coast skiing isnt real skiing. /end novel

Went to World ski Invitational this year first time to Whistler ever in the winter. 3rd run in the pipe fell on my hand hurt alot couldn't hold my pole. trained the rest of the day with one pole. Second day of training I train for 2 hours and my coach tells me to go get my hand checked out. So I go to the hospital in Whistler and get my hand checked out get X rays. SEE JEFF SCHMUCK IN THE HOSPITAL LIMPING (claim). wait another hour, get my x ray, turns out i broke my 5th menicarple and other stuff in my right hand. Doctor freezes my hand puts it back in place after 2 more hours. Tells me that I can't compete at all. So I said alright I won't walked out of the hospital with my cast on Competed the next day, I duct taped my hand to my cast. Made semi finals. Competed the next day and made WSI pipe finals. Take that doctor! So if I would have listened to my doctor I wouldn't have had that experience. Worst ski trip ever? No. Best Ski Trip ever? YES.

The way I see it, the trips where the most random/gay/crazy events happen are the best!

my worst ski trip.. vermont in january we went up had 10 people (6 guys 4 girls) stay in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment style condo and i was the only skiier. i also started out knowing only one of the girls who got hurt the first day..

all in all it ended in $900 worth of damage to the place and seriously one of the most fun weeks of my life haha

a week after a tree fell on my snowmobile and totaled it with insurance not covering that type of thing I went to Montana for ten days. I had someone loan me a sled for the trip. The day before it was supposed to snow 20 inches, didnt happen. Then three more storms completely missed us. Spent 5 days building jumps we never got to hit, tank of sled gas every day, idaho registration, and all the gas money for the 14 hour drive each way. On top of that my license got suspend because I got a ticket in Idaho for not having a registered trailer, which you dont need in Oregon. Then I argued the ticket and proved I didnt need it to be registered but in return they said I didnt check something on my ticket when i sent it back so they suspended my license until I paid for a ticket I clearly did not deserve. Also I went in debt a couple hundred dollars on that trip...

I went to Breck for 3 days and it was super windy. I got huge purple windburn lines on the tops of my cheek bones. There was a lot of snow though so that made up for it!

The day I drove 6 hours to VT to ski "powder", which actually turned out to be a couple of inches of rain. Fucking weathermen. Still had a blast, but........ yeah that was a bummer.

I drove from Toronto to Tremblan (about a 7 hr drive) one night to go skiing with a few buds.

We get to the hill at 8am and the south face lifts were down almost all day.  We the equivalent of 1.5 runs and stood in line for the rest.  They had only one lift operational.  At 1pm they offered  a free ticket for another day that season.  I was only in town for that one day, so it was useless to me.

2 days of my life.  14 hrs of driving.  About 6 hours in lift lines.  All for 1.5 runs at crappy Tremblant.

That trip sucked sweaty ballsack.

Went up to barrie/collingwood in ontario and every day it was like 12 degrees celcius which isnt too bad I guess, went up to blue and it was 17, then go back to barrie and it was -10 so everything (I mean everything, all the snow, coatings on chairlifts, rails) were covered in ice because it rained that night. It was still one of my favourite ski trips

Haha, heartwarming but not always true!  The last day of the year at Keystone (probably 4 seasons ago) I broke my skis on the first run and didn't have the money to rent anything.  That was a bad day.

i went ther once and it snowed 3 feet and i got snowed in with a very pissed off mom for two days we tried to hike out twice it was crazy  we were right in the middle of the most hazardous avy run out in the canyon

I planned to go on a trip starting in Syracuse then to a few other places to hit handrails. Before we even left Syracuse I got a huge concussion on a quad kink, but decided to go ahead with the rest of the trip anyway. Traveled 3 hours north to a town full of rails without a flake of snow on the ground, slept in a car, lost 60 bucks, then came home without a single shot

One time it took me 10 hours to drive the normally 2 hour drive to Big Bear, and then on the last day we had to go to Snow Valley for some reason, but it was still fun.
