Duluth Attn: Brule river question

Anyone kayak the Brule this spring, good, bad or ugly??  I am a novice with sometime in a lake and some pools, but no real river experience, will I die or live??  Are the portages mild or gnarly??  Any help will help!!!!

brule river is 45 mins away in WI but i always see kyakers on the st louis river

I would assume you are talking about the Wi Brule. There's one in MN that's kinda gnarly. But you should be fine on the brule if you know how to wet exit. All of the shoots are fairly short and some are surfable. I have taken some friends down it who have never really been in a boat before so no need to worry about protaging anything. Go and have fun.

no u will not my scout troop paddles it every year its chill for the most part depends on where u start from but youll b just fine and its only like 5 feet deep at the deepest part

yeah, Ive kayaked it twice, and I never kayaked before, it was enjoyable and nothing incredibly intense.
