A quick word on blocking ads

So for my graduation/birthday present, my parents are getting me a camera of my choice. They are paying up to $700 for the camera and if I want to get one thats over that price I will have to pay the difference.
I'm going between the D5000 ($792 on amazon) and T1i ($899 on amazon). However the xsi is definitely still in the picture and possibly a few more, but i'm mainly focused on the two stated above. I really don't want to pay more than $200 of my own money, which means a limit of $900 on the camera. My parents are also paying for a lens, so I don't really have to worry about that.
I will be shooting mostly outdoors... landscapes, some macro, and action shots. I'm spending four months in greece starting this September. The video mode isn't that important, but it would be nice to have. This will be my first dslr, but i'm very familiar with cameras.
There have been little to no threads on these two cameras since they both came out a little over a month ago. Any input is greatly appreciated.
