ya man im a runner heres a sick quote that gets me pumped up:
"Excuses are the nails in the house of failure".
-unknown
that is epic win right there!
Run Hard...Pound Harder
Thats what our shirts said this past season
"any race less than five miles is for candyasses"
my xc coach
running wont kill you
you'll pass out first
our stupid xc shirts said "90% of running is half mental, the rest is all heart". It was pretty lame.
no, I put it right. thats exactly what the shirt says.
"If it's not hurting you're not running hard enough."
"Pain is weakness leaving the body, so run through the pain."
"The pain in the mind is worse then the pain in the body"
"Pain has its own noble joy, when it starts a strong consciousness of life, from a stagnant one"
"We must embrace our pain and burn it as fuel for our journey"
and my favorite one
"There is no coming to consciousness without pain"
kids and gym teachers/coaches that are really into cross country or track are a joke.
More than half the people on either of these teams are just kids that got couldn't make a real sports team. The rest are fat kids whose parents signed them up so they would lose weight or nerdy asian girls who need a sport to get into the ivy league. Then theres like a tiny percentage of decent runners who think they run shit because they're the best ones at their sport. Well, hello you're competing with a bunch of nerds, C- athletes, and chubby kids.
I bet the starters on any real varsity sport team (football, soccer, lacrosse, wrestling, etc.) could run circles around any skinny dweeb on the XC team.
