Legal Question About Drugs

Say one of my roommates in my apartment is into hard drugs and he's slanging every once in a while. If I don't do them and I'm not involved with any selling he's doing, what (if anything) am I liable for if the 5-0 come knocking on our door some night?

I know if you live in on campus housing you would be liable if you had an RA come. If you're leasing a place you might wanna look in your lease i think some of those things are outlined in there. I'm not sure however if The 5-0 could do anything or not though.

Its an off-campus apartment and there wasn't anything about it in the lease. I'm just wondering if I can be held responsible for his shit simply because I co-rent the apartment with him, or because I might be present if by chance the cops do show up. I read somewhere that people who know about drugs can be charged with something like "conspiracy to traffic drugs" but I dunno if that's true or not

possession if you're in a dorm, at least by the school. i dunno about police-wise since intent has a lot to do with what makes things legal/illegal.

Make sure the drugs are hidden. This will let your excuse of "I had no idea he kept them here" fly. Also tell your roomie/flatmate that if the 5-0 come he never told you they were there. The less you know about them the better. They cant charge you if you had "no clue" about them.

word. Thats exactly the plan that I had in mind. I think as long as they're out of sight and my roommate backs my story about not knowing they were there I should be golden. I'm just stressing tho because I recently had another friend who was busted with fairly small quantities of x and shrooms and it turned out to be like $20,000 in fines. Fucking ridiculous.

No shit. Luckily he caught a break and had some of the fines lowered when he went to court but it was still thousands and thousands of dollars. It really is pathetic
