yeah i just saw that on rollernews, that sucks cause they wont make the ch1s anymore and the new carbons look like shiny valos. Anyways i decided my feet were a bit too wide for thrones and ordered the deshis.

Just got into skating and just joined this cult ... but had to comment on the edit posted in this thread

Holy shit that guy is sick. been watching a shitload of edits recently and haven't seen anything like that. Hand drags? First time I seen that on skates. That guy is nuts.

Well I've been borrowing my buddies Valo TV2s ... But I ordered a pair of my own that should be arriving in the next couple of days. The thing is I'm broke so I bought a used pair of Rollerblade Downtown 3s with Salomon USD frames. They were $50 and were in pretty good condition so I snatched them up.

haha idk y, but i just got reminded of these shoes that i had when i was young. they weren't heely's but there were 4 wheels that could pop out of them whenever i wanted...they were fun when they lasted

A friend and I were talking about this the other day, and it's actually pretty comprable if not slightly more expensive. Sure you can get cheapo walmart decks or blanks with crappy trucks and whatnot all for 50$, but you can also get some used but ok skates for about the same. A nice full setup for skateboarding can run 150+ if you're buying everything, don't forget you probably buy a new deck at least once a year, and assuming you eat through shoes at 50$ a pair. That's getting expensive. I guess the point of my rant is, skateboarding costs more over time, rolling is a pretty up-front investment.

Anyway to the kid who was talking about hand drags, I noticed something. Recently skating has moved away from hammers (although they're still done) and toward smaller tricks that are unique to the obstacle they're done on, or have a very individualized style to them. A lot of people on xsjado skate like this (although they do hammers too). but it's fun to do small stuff that looks cool, I've been doing a lot of hand drags at my skatepark recently.

Built a new box/rail thing today. It's so fun, good box for skates, hopefully a nice rail for skis. If anyone wants plans/instructions for it lemme know.
