17 year old who stole a machine gun...

Theres a guy at my school in grade 11, hes only 17, and he got busted for stealing a $15 000 M4 assault rifle out of the back of an unmarked police car. since he already has a criminal record, he got tried for 2-10 years, and he is going to jail, i just donno how long for.

He and a friend were breaking into cars one night, and they broke into the back of the cruiser, grabbed a duffle bag and ran. he got home and found out it was an M4, so he tried to hide it in the garbage, hoping it would get taken out with the trash. idiot.

someone who knew about this turned him in, and the cops found the gun and arrested him. his parents paid a temporary bail type thing to keep him out of prison for 6 months, but even just that cost them $30 000.

it was all in the news and stuff, and i kinda even knew the guy because he went to my public school before highschool. so its just fucked that this actually happened...

sparknotes: guy at my school stole an assault rifle and got 2-10 years in prison, although hes only 17.

yeah as far as i knew standard issue was just a regular m16, some people got grenade launchers, some got sights, but they weren't decked out with tons of attachment

hahaha, and what kind of any gun owner uses magpuls and mag clamps? i didnt even know anyone actually used a mag clamp. and what does a policeman need a magpul for? they wear vests and need to reload?

woah i had no idea that so many people were gun fanatics on here. if you learned this shit from CoD , thats pretty lame.

so i guess my post was kinda innacurate, but whatever.. i live in a suburb of a medium sized town in canada. this shit is unheard of here, and i cant say i know much about guns either.

i mean really, what kind of heavy fire is he gonna be under?

does he plan on being in like a 2 hour standoff with the mascot of the rival team?
he probably just asked for all the accessories he could find even though they're contradictory and useless to him

cod is pretty good for a videogame, but in cod the reddot online at least is an open red dot. no US military personnel use open red dots like that one. they only use aimpoints, which look like this,

you can have eotechs in the cod campaign which is cool, and even the red dot pattern is correct, the circle with the dot in it

open red dots are crap, i have one on an airsoft gun and it's the same as regular sights basically because you have to line up the dot before you shoot whereas on an aimpoint you just look through the thing
i think i'm gonna switch to a leapers red/green dot

cod also doesn't cover a huge range of guns, i wish they had an stg in there

i think it might be an issue of glare? because on cod style open red dots, the laser is behind the lense and the laser shines on the shooter's side of the lens, so some glare might hinder the vision. but with an eotech the laser is on the other side and there is a big sunshade on eotechs

and eotechs are way more advanced with the hologram and they're more durable and also more stable than open dots because the laser is on the other side

even in cod the eotech in campaign kicks the open dot's ass

ahah, i knew all this well before cod came out, but yeah most of my knowledge comes from airsoft, and reading about guns because of airsoft

yeah i have a 400 rd hi-cap for my mp5 which is basically 2 200 round mags clipped together, it is pretty useful
