Pros vs. Am

So i have been thinking abuot this all day. And what does it take for an Am to become pro?  It seems like theres lots of Am out there that are just as good as the pros.
And it would be sick if they had a Pros vs. Am comp. Maybe there  is one. idk

dew tour was when you think about it. Some of those skiers shouldn't technically be considered pros.

When you make enough money from skiing to support yourself, then you are pro.

he has a good point. Being a profesional skier means skiing is your profesion, so I think thats a perfect definition.

thanks for the good answers. but here's the question. if you go on, let's say the armada site. theyhave their team well split into pros and Am. So when the company decides they are paying you alot that's how they decide if you're pro??

probably the type of contract they have with the company so maybe pros get paid to endorse their product and get free gear whereas an amateur may only get free swag or even lesser amateurs just get big discounts on the company's product
