Sorry man, but you are talking about what you like in a movie. You don't understand what part ski movies have in the industry.
Before I tell you what I"m talking about, this DOES NOT apply to Think Thank, becase they are filling their niche whatever. good for them. You are arguing a personal preference like it's a fact.
MOST ski and board movies are about money. Production companies want the most epic shots to make the most money. You need to mix that with a feel-good vibe of some sort to market to everyone. To MOST of the riders, getting banger shots is important, because that mean incentives from sponsors, which is how they get paid. For ski companies, they want to see their riders getting bangers, because it makes their company look good.
On top of that, you say "but if it isn't fun then why the hell should anyone do it. It is stupid to say that just because something isn't huge or dangerous that it is not movie worthy."
Well, that again is based on personal preference. All of the sponsored athletes that I know ENJOY doing things that are huge and dangerous, and although dicking around is always fun, it's not as much fun as pushing it hard for them.
Think thank obviously does their own thing. They are a small company that has lots of fun and does little pokey bonky things in their videos, and somehow they get by in life and make enough money to produce another low-budget movie the next year. GREAT FOR THEM, REALLY. But saying "the point of a ski movie is to show how much fun you had" and basically that my opinions of what I like to see in movies is not what ski movies about is ignorant, and pretty retarded, because you are telling me that personal preference is some sort of fact. It's not. I
salute small companies because they somehow make it happen, bust most people (even people that do it because they legit love it) are still looking to make some money.
