I have limited funds, and i'm moving to steamboat springs, home of the champagne powder. do i spend the money i have for proper powder skis or on the season pass. unlimited skiing with 85 underfoot skis or limited with the possibility of alot more fun with powder skis.

that really is a hard one, i personally would go with a season pass, i ski'd powder on pipe cleaners for 2 years

well since my season pass is like 50 bucks (42 lifts and over 200 km of slopes, two parks, although theyre not great and good pow) and i might get skis next year from a shop, i cant help you

wow, what a claim, no honestly, i would say more likely season ticket, because its actually possible to ride pow with 85 underfoot (and if the bindings arent centermounted, its even funny)...

where do you ski, lol my  season pass is 200$ for one lift a t-bar , one shitty park and abosolutley no pow. lol

season pass, i skied 3 foot pow on 79 underfoot ski pretty easily. or you could go talk to a ninthward streetteam member for an amazing deal.

i'll sell you some Scott P4 (108) underfoot in awesome condition. No edge or base damage, drilled once, for $150 or so. and i'm in Steamboat. then already know their way around.

austria, the resort is called ischgl, but the thing is, its only for locals that less expensive. ah, i calculated the exchange course wrong, its like 160 $ for adults and something like 90 $ for children and students like me.

if you come to my resort and buy a season ticket, you would pay like 600, so its really only for locals a especial discount (because the lift company is owned by locals, all the hotels are owned by locals and so on...)

Seasons Pass. You can skis pow and park skis. You can't ski without a pass though

Pass for sure. I love how all east coast people (not sure where you're from) are like ZOMG west I need pow skis!!!!!!!!!!! (not trying to hate.) Like there is pow days but its not like you need bents to have fun. Personally I enjoy a bit of sink, when you float on top for 40cm you might as well being skiing on 4cm.

Plus when you get to steamboat, work a bit save a bit at a time and I bet you could budget for some fat skis.

If you are living in Steamboat then get the pass.  You will meet someone that has multiple pair of powder skis and you can just borrow one.  Or get a job in a shop and you can shop form what ever you want, and even take out the demo skis on pow days until you have enough to buy your own.

People have managed to ski pow with skis a lot less than 85 underfoot...

As long as theyre not centermounted you'll be fine... plus you can always buy some secondhand really cheap fat skis if you need them.

OR! uhm why are your trying to pick those when you could be picking what outerwear to get?? i mean if your at the ski hill skis , who cares, pass, who cares, get a fucking legit looking setup, look like your pro, maybe buy some red bull sticker, do whatever and hang in the lodge and pull some ass. Facepalm me all you like, but honestly some of the pow skis these days are just stupid. Like unless you're ripping serious lines where you need big skis to survive (which 95% of newschoolers doesnt). And even if you do rip these lines or get enough snow to "need" pow ski, you will honestly get 10 days that are truely worth it in a season. The dude is much better off get a season pass than having the perfect ski for 10 days.

Go with the skis bro, the season pass will only last you one season and the skis will probly last longer meaning better value for money, cha-ching haha.

and if you decide to travel to anothe mountain the season pass isnt wasted

def season pass. and if your skis are centermounted move em back a bit. you can always demo pow skis if its stupid deep, or just shred on your sticks. steamboats snow is usually so light its really not bad on narrower skis. save up this winter and pick some up in the spring for hella cheap. or as someone said get a job at a shop. and enjoy steamboat its the shit
