if its on a tape then obviously firewire and capture manually. if youre shooting on a memory card its a little different. usually what i do is just create a new folder and put all the raw clips from the memory card into it then drag the raw clip onto the shot list on the top left window. i cant see your screen so i cant tell you exactly how, but if that doesnt work you can try importing the clips into your project.
