basically thats what I was gonna say...
No one can deny the skill of Wallisch and Henrik, I would be the first person to give them props. I don't think anyone is really hating on them, they are hating on the fact that 50,000 sophomores in highschool that didn't ski two years ago are now wearing tall tees and flashing gang signs like they are the hottest shit ever. Easy come easy go, these will be the same people that peace out when the industry stagnates and skiing isn't so cool anymore. I'm not trying to dictate to anyone what their style should or shouldn't be, I'm just saying that if you set out to dress like a pro and emulate their style, people are going to make fun of you, so deal with it.
who cares what clothes they wear, its their choice. they're clearly enjoying what they do and at the end of the day isn't that what skiing should be about?
Exactly! This style of clothes, as well as the rap music, is nothing new at all, at least not in our community, which is predominately white and very far removed from the inner city hoods. I don't know how it got so popular to wear baggy pants down below the waist and listen to rap music, but it is definetly the trend here, and has been for as long as I've been raising my kids.
Bottom line, Tom and Henrik look good on the slopes no matter what they choose to wear, and I do love all the pretty colors the skiers wear today. It does look cumbersome though to wear all that bulky clothes, but they seem to make it work......obviously.
What is kind of funny is that any of these fresh faced white skiers would probably be scared stiff if their car stalled in the middle of the hood and they had to fend for themselves. Black people must really get a laugh out of all us suburban white folk acting like gangsters.
Oh funny, "I'm So Hood" remix by DJ Khaled just came on my ipod!
summer = no ski = angry = hating
stomped it
Big difference between Tom and Henrick., they both ride and dress with style but Tom doesn't try to be someone he's not, you talk to him and he's got zero attitude and talks like a normal kid from PA. Henrick thinks he needs to pretend he's from Brooklyn NY with a fake urban accent and attitude to be accepted. I hope someday soon Henrick realizes that he's recognized AND RESPECTED based on skills, not being someone you're not. Tanner went through the same phases pretending he was a rapper and now rasta, its honestly just a case of lack of self confidence to be who you are. Tom doesn't have that issue.
