Decent skishop has ptex guns that inject ptex under pressure, obviously this is a much better repair than you DIY ptex candle repair... however if you do it yourself, it wont be bad for the ski, it just might look uglier (since you have black bases it doesnt matter, i have orange bases and my repairs are all decent but oh so ugly) and it might come out after time, but no worries, just ptex it again....
One last tip for using ptex candles, when you drip in the superhot plastic and you think youre done, immediately press your cold metal scraper on the hot ptex, this will thermoshock it+ youll press the ptex in your base, this makes your base harder and denser where you ptexed....
