Thoughts on Niklas Eriksson

I was wondering how stoked people are on level 1's new superunknown winner, Iv felt like ever since TWALL took superunkown there has been a huge pressure over the last two years for truly progressive riding from (as the title suggests) unkown skiers. I may be alone on this one, but it doesn't seem to me that Brogan has recieved VIRTUALLY any coverage near the same level as Tom did since coming out as last years Superunkown, especially barely being in Turbo/ not a ton of news of him filming for the new Level1 movie from what iv herd and read on the website(regardless the kid SLAYS, and in defense iv herd rumors of finishing highschool and all that probly limited his traveling). Also iv herd contriversy about Nikala' apparent Salomon sponsorship, I'm assuming he's on some sort of flow relationship with them or somthing of the sort, because to my knowledge every superunkown winner hasn't had ANY super credible sponsors at the time, thus them being superunkown. However, Niklas slays and this quote from the latest Level 1 update really makes a statement "Niklas Eriksson proved his Superunknown Heavyweight Title by dropping switch double flat 10's, double cork 12s, and other hammers all evening on the backside perfect jump." For a first year superunkown it sounds like this kid has his head on his shoulder, and absolutly focused on killing it. No matter what the new Level 1 movie is going to be insane.

my guess would be brogan does not have much coverage cause he is till in highschool. my prediction is he will have a bigger part the year after this up coming one. that is my thought and i could be worng

exactly, everyone is sayin stuff like "brogan doesnt ski enought" "brogan doesnt make enough edits" "brogan isnt progressing" well you gotta realize the kid is still in grade school and since he just graduated a change might be seen very soon...

I have to say, each one of Brogans edits REAKS of steeze, and once this kid gets full time with level 1 and the best parks he's sure to break out something none of us even know yet.

I have only seen a few edits of Niklas so far but he is soo damn smooth! I can't wait to see more of him in the new Level 1 movie

eriksson's double in his level1 edit at JOSS is the sickest ive seen to date.. but i think the reason that wallisch got as big as he did is because of he really opened everyones eyes to a new style.. that is super thug , andspinning an pretzeling effortlessly. anyone else can do that now, but its not a new and unique style. i dont really think there are that many styles that differ greatly to be found. Bullet's supperunknown edit was the most unique style, but his bag of tricks was no where near what wallischs unkown edit brought.

well he is overall better then twall was when he won. I think he will start killing well he already does but he become really good when filming with level 1

I thought niklas was a great choice beacause level one didn't need another jibrat they already have tons of amazing ones they needed someone who killed it on big jumps, Harlaut is there only real top notch jumper and he only filmed with them once last year.

personaly i think niklas switch "dub flat" 10 is the absolute best trick i have ever seen, and i think it is just because it is on another level of shit!!! its not double to me, I look at it and I think of it more like an endless flat, you know, like doesnt leave flat and then go into a second time, but stays in the first one and makes it look absolutely amazing

so i think that particular trick should be called something other than a double. how about all time best trick ever done

Tom had flow from 4frnt when he won. The issue is really whether or not they are getting attention or if they are "unknown" I think, because neither tom nor niklas were before the super unknown. I think niklas is sick, I can't wait to see his shots.

I'm going to get torn apart by everyone for saying this but Brogan afterbangs way to hard and it doesn't look cool...The Niklas kid probably does slay...but i think Level 1's next superunknown needs to be a true all round ripper...they have soooooooo many jibbers its ridiculous...get someone who can go out and slay with Wiley and Stephen...I want to see some BC booters, some epic pow shred, and throwing tricks off cliffs...thats some next level shit...I absoulutly love Level 1...but lets get some more well rounded riders. If you watch Turbo again watch Hornbecks segment...I know that he is known as a jibber but that segment is so well rounded. He hits backcountry booters, rails, park...everything...If i remember correctly he gets 3 of the 4 5's in the BC, a 9 in the BC, and of course his amazing jibbing skills. He did it all and it wasn't just park shot, jib shot, park shot, jib shot etc...I'm thinking next superunkonwn is a Wiley Miller/Mike Hornbeck super human...that would be straight IGNANT!

the Wiley Miller/Mike Hornbeck seg in Long Story Short was so rediculous. one of my favorites. regardless, Niklas is really stylish so i'd be excited to see what L1 sets him up with.  Tom's superunknown was sick, but i think it was that much sicker because it was ahead of its time.  the Superunknown contest definitely won't become less competitive any time soon though....

To be honest when he won superunknown I was kind of disappointed because I thought his edit was average compared to the other favourites...


Until I saw that sw double flat, holy shit I didn't know that was possible.

No doubt he'll get some amazing shots.

crazy thing was half his unknown one of his arms was busted.... seeing someone with a busted arm and a gsuit just screamed henrick... kids got tricks wonder what hes got with 2 good arms and perhaps not babying it so to speak.

It's true that all of these guys are good jumpers(if they weren't they wouldn't be pro) but only a handful of them can actually do double corks.

so all of a sudden you have to do double corks to be consider a top notch skier, imo thats straight retarted  I love seeing a nice double just as much as the next person but im just as entertained if not more by other tricks as well
