Do the pro's get to ski free? Like if todd walnuts showed up at mammoth or what ever, would he still have to buy his own pass?

y would the ski free? The mountain doesn't give a shit. That would mean that slalom skiers and BM skiers would also ski free. And when you mean pro, does that mean all sponsored skiers. I would be impossible to classify if people were pro or not. If T-Wall came to my mountain, they wouldn't even know who he was.

because they usually dont show up on a spur of the moment to a random resort like yours. They are there training at their local hill that wants to keep them riding there, good to have pros seen shredding your park. Or their on a film shoot pre-arranged. These guys are not dishing out $80 ++ to ride mammoth for a day or two.


Also Slalom skiers at races and all that also probably ski for the same reason. Or im sure US Ski Team picks up the bill.

Depends on the situation, the benefit to all the parties involved, budgeting within particular departments and relationships between the skiers / filmers / marketing / park crews.

True, but the thread starter said that if T-Wall showed up at Mamoth, which is not his training mountain i dont think, cuz T-Wall lives in Utah, which implies if a pro shows up anywhere do they get in free? the answer is no

pretty sure T-Wall could ski for free at mammoth by talking to someone i ntheir marketing department. He prob wouldnt even have to go that far either

its pretty awesome when you show up to a mountain, go to guest services and have tickets printed out for you, and your "filmer." I still buy a season pass, and use vouchers (poach), but when you get the hook up, there is nothing better. 

 most pros would consider a day ticket a travel expense, whether sponsor covers it or not, they buy passes from time to time. every event issues passes, and photoshoots are scheduled, so it would be rare to need a pass anyway.

i know in canada they get a can west competitor pass. free skiing everywhere in western canada im pretty sure.

Most of the time if pros are going on a random ass tour through even tiny hills they have a schedule and talk to the mountains ahead of time.
If they come and take pictures at their mountain it give them good exposure or whatever.

A lot of it depends on the situation as said above. If the mountain is going to get something out of the deal, then yes, they will hook up tickets and whatnot. But you have to meet their demands, be it videos, photos, or whatever.

I bought a spring pass to T-line, and some tickets at Meadows this year just to go ski.

So, if you want to ski for fun with no cameras and no agreements to fulfill, then chances are you will pay. I know that I do. Not sure about everyone else though.
