Dope little caged critters

i want a pet.  i cant have a cat or dog since my landlord is a wack scum trick bitch troll. so i need something i can keep in a cage.  ive been thinking of dwarf hamster or rabbit or something that is cute furry and badass.  anybody got any ideas?

you have geckos set free in your house? what do they eat? dont they shit everywhere? i hope you bought the foot long one, because that would be creepy as fuck if you came home one day and found a huge wild lizard in your bed.

My roommates and I used to have 2 parakeets and they didn't smell bad and they were easy to take care of. They were also pretty fun to play with, you can put them on things and watch them fly off of them (like chandeliers or christmas trees).

That appears to be a PIGMY MARMOSET. Which is awesome, but I would imagine they would cost a fuckload. I used to have a guinea pig. Guinea pigs are awesome and I would really recommend one. Only thing is that their cages have to be cleaned a lot and they do require quite a bit of attention. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I used to work at a pet shop and after being with all of the animals, rats are the most dope sauce of them all. dont get mini hamsters, those things are angry stupid little assholes! rats are the only rodents with the notion of height( that means unlike hamsters they wont jump off your shoulder and die. they actualy are affectionate and are by far the most inteligent of rodents.heres are pics of my two rats right now. I have a naked dumbo rat which means it will never have hair on its body exept the little peach fuzz it has now, his name is cock. my other rat, a brown and white dumbo rat is named balls.

fish, i dont even feed mine very often, they either eat their own poop, or eachother, plus they look cool and it adds an outdoorsy feel to a room.

ok so I have tons of experience with pets. i have or have had tons of them.

i have had a hamster - they kind of suck. they are cool for about a week or two then they are boring and smelly.  this is the same for mice, gerbils, degus, rats.

i have a bunny now, and she's awesome - litter train your bunny so it can roam around your house. my bunny is super friendly and cuddly. don't get one from a pet store, they are a waste of money, depending where you live, try a farmer's market or something like that...my bunny cost me $5.00. bunnies do stink if you don't clean them every other day at least, their pee smells horrible.

lizards and snakes - i think they are cool, but boring. my brother had a bearded dragon, it was kind of cool, but boring.

a fish tank might be an idea - while they aren't really pets, they look really nice in a house. everyone seems to like saltwater ones, but they are overrated. a heavily planted freshwater tank looks much nicer and there are super colorful freshwater fish too. they are low maintenance once they are set up.

i won't lie - nothing compares to a dog. they are the best pets ever. maybe a horse, but i've never been around them so i don't know.

I dissagree with your view on rats... I dont know if you have ever had one but they are realy cuddly and completely different from all of the other rodents. rats are always fun because you can just leave them on your shoulder and do what you have to do and they will stay there. you can play with them and they will come to you. you can train them to go in a litter, make them recognise their names and they will actualy apreciate you. rabits are cool also I have to agree, the only downside is you cant carry them as practicaly as a rat. with rats you can do the dishes with them chilling on your shoulder, if you have long hair they will even sleep between your neck and hair. rabits you cant bring to the skatepark or to the store without having to hold him.

on that cat and dog fight, i agree dogs are better for the most part, but i have a cat and hes the fucking man

he LOVES attention, hes not that cat the runs away when he sees people, lots of cas do that to even their owners. My cat will come over to anyone in my family, or anyone who comes over and rub up against them and try to sit in their lap. he ALWAYS sits on my lap or in the space inbetween me and the end of the couch. hes on my lap right now infact, by choice. it almost gets annoying sometimes, i cant type because he lays on my arm. he also sleeps on our beds all the time, he will lay in the grass when i go outside to throw a lacrosse ball and he will chase the ball if i roll it around. he also kills tons of shit, im pretty sure he beat the crap out of another cat because our street is basially his territory since hes the only cat here. hes also SUPER low maintenence, he poops and pees outside except i've never seen his shit because he always covers it and does it in the woods. he doesnt require an electric fence, his food is cheap and easy, and hes just all around fun and keeps himself clean. i love my cat

I used to have a chinchilla when i was younger. I now have 2 mini lop bunnies. IMO a chinchilla is higher maintnaice than my two bunnies are, mainly due to the fact chinchilla need dust bath (a place to rollin volcanic ash), and you need to clean their cage.
The bunnies only spend a little time in a cage, because i let them run arround certain rooms of my house, and let them run outside in a chicken wire fenced area. GET A BUNNY

i think im going to go with rats.  fun, social, relatively easy to care for, affordable and cute.  girls dont really like rats. but thats their problem.  dumbo rats are fuckin sweet.

if hes talking about flying falangers ( i think thats what it is in english ) thn yah they are pretty dope sauce! we had like 3 of them at my pet shop, but thery far from a good option because it takes a lot of time and effort to take good care of them and they are nocturnal

hampsters are sooo cute but-
    they dont like to be held
     they dont like other hampsters and they will kill eachother
     they are amazing at escaping out of their cages so make sure to get a secure cage
     but, they are good if you dont want to have to be around much b/c they are happy to be left alone...
rabbits are awesome but-
     they live for like 5-7 years so be ready to be commited to that
     they like people so if your not going to have alot of time to spend with it then dont get one
     they are also good at getting out so be carfull with that
chinchillas are super cool animals
     and they LOVE people more then any of the other furry critters so they are deff time consuming
     they are soo fun and love to climb currtans and play so if your looking for a fun friend theyre pretty  
      good for that
guinnea pigs are sorta boring i have to admit and not very cute

i dont know anything about and reptiles, but if you get any of the furry critters dont lock them in a small cage, and they LOVE fresh veggies so make them happy  and feed them good foods=)

yeah but they are sooo friendly and outgoing unlike many of the other critters that love to just in their cages and hide, or love to hide places in the house, like if a hampster gets out of its cage its likely you will never see it again cause they just stuff their pouches with food and hide forever. but like chinchillas you will see playing on things . i guess what i meant is that they are just super outgoing

This thread encouraged me to go out and make a new pet purchase of my own.
I already had three exotic cats, (Bengals) but I realized I needed to make an addition.

Here it is, my new Crested Gecko.

His name is Stoney Bill. haha

less consequence i guess.  Nobody would really care if they saw a high gecko but i think my parents wouldn't really be down with baked out dogs.  also that was our friend's dog, i never said i'm not down for getting MY dogs blazed, just not that laberdoodle.
