how does this comment help anyone other than making yourself feel better?

i have never worked with that stuff but when i first made my metal rail it didnt slide, i just waxed it and sprayed water on it and then it worked. maybe try that if you havent.

for sure. wax is a cure all for stickyness problems. just wax that puppy down and you'll be sliding in no time

wax that trick, then cork it in.
then wax again.
then cork it in
then leave it out in the sun.
then wax again.
it also helps to get it wet, but not too much.

skate shop wax is fine.
you can also use a candle, haha.
and you can buy a waxing cork, or just use a wine cork. 
the friction off the cork on the wax creates a little bit of heat that melts the wax creating a smooth surface, and bonding it a little to the feature.

^ i have made a bunch of log rails. The best wax for wood that i have found is bowling alley wax. It protects the wood and it slides great. Wood has to be perfectlly smooth first. Even a log dfd down slid great with it.

PVC works a ton better, trust me i have a box made of hpde and a rail of pvc

PVC is the most popular material, all the other ones are kind of iffy. I have worked with PVC, puckboard (the walls of hockey rinks and wat they have in terrain parks) and Plexy. In my opinion, plexy is expensive and if it is too thin it will crack. Puckboard is hard to find, and it works well until you get dirt on it, which scratches it and reduces the slide. PVC is smooth as hell, cheap and you can make single barrel, double barrels and boxes out of it. Good luck.

I used to work at a rink and stole some puck board from the back storage.  It worked well but when it gets hot the puckboard expands and since its screwed in only every 12 inches or so, it made it really messed up.
